Took the bus to Seattle awhile back, I always keep my Nexus card with my passport. The passport is US even though I live in Vancouver and am dual citizen. The US inspector was more interested in questioning why I was on a bus and not in a car if I had the Nexus Card, I had to remind her that it is also good at airports, duh!!!!!!

Went through NEXUS at YYZ on Saturday and noticed the new "fever or cough" question as well. I feel like they should throw in some extra random questions now and again just to make sure we're paying attention!

No, OK, No, OK is the way to cross the border! Had my first Airport Secondary today (one at a road crossing) Professional, quick and no issues. |

Good luck getting your interview done at SEA airport - the office isn't there - its in the city.
That said, you can have your iris scanned at any airport Nexus location, and there are a few land ones to. YVR would be your closest airport office, but there is also one in downtown Vancouver where you can scan your eyes. You can also set up your interview in Seattle, and then just get your eyes scanned the next time you are at an airport office or land one that allows you to do that - if you just go in for an iris scan, you don't need an appointment, they will accept walk ins. If you interview in Seattle, you can still use the land border once you get the new card and then just start using it for air travel once you've had your iris' scanned. |

That's good to know. Where exactly is the office? My friend will be in Seattle for a few days for his interview but wasn't aware of the iris scan issues so this will necessitate another visit. I did my interview in Montreal so I didn't have the same problems.
Note that if you're friend is in Seattle for just a few days, they might want to make sure they can get online to schedule the appointment soon to make sure there is an opening when they will be visiting. I believe all appointments are scheduled through GOES now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

The link for the list of offices is here: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/location-eng.html. Asteriks indicate centers that can do an iris scan.

I'm doing my first BUF departure. Can anyone tell me which bridge to cross at from Toronto? I have NEXUS but not familiar with the land crossing rules. I did quick search but couldn't find anything detailed in 1 spot so thought I'd ask an expert here :D

I find it 1000x easier to cross there than at Queenston-Lewiston (as that bridge bottlenecks with trucks, etc). Watch out for cops in BUF, they are everywhere.. |

There is a Nexus only bridge (Whirlpool Bridge in Niagara Falls) or the Rainbow bridge.

How's the whirlpool bridge for NEXUS only? Is it easy to get to and quick vs. the rainbow bridge when coming from Toronto?
As for the cops in BUF thanks for the warning. to rainbow, follow road, it will take you there to whirlpool, make a left at Stanley Ave (from the 420), right at Bridge Street, all the way to the bridge |

They have a larger sign over the roadway as well, but I can't find a small version of it. I'm too lazy to download/resize it right now :P Photo by Beige Alert on flickr |

Two Canada Customs guys were at the left side Nexus at Pearson T1 last night, checking all Nexus users to make sure that they had their card. They had their arms folded in a classic tough guy mode, with big bad frowns. Maybe they were trying to emulate their American bretheren. In any event, I suspect an edict has come down to remind all Nexus users that they must have their card with them at all times.
One could imagine they could spending their time doing more important things. |
