Went to the regular queue and asked the CBP officer where I could enroll, he walked me to a colleague at nearby counter that didn’t have any signange related to GE. The “interview” was basically couple of minutes long, no Q&A but just him typing my data and getting my photo/fingerprints. Got the KTN update from the site in a couple of hours and used the TSA Precheck in 2 days when I was flying back to Europe. came in IAD on Monday 2pm. There was just one person in front of me waiting for the EoA.

Great, thanks so much for taking the time to provide that info 👍

Did Enrollment on Arrival at BOS yesterday; after 40min ESTA queue got directed to a separate lane with a single officer and 8 people ahead. Took 45 minutes to process them; the interview itself took only like 5 minutes and was the officer typing my data, taking a photo + fingerprints, and asking some basic questions + explaining how it works. Status was updated 5 minutes after being approved by the officer.

As I was waiting the queue behind me grew big (there were 25 people when I left) and I doubt they were all proceesed before the end.

Any time limit on enrollment beyond what the website indicates?

I applied back in September 2019, hoping I’d be one of the people who get CA two days later, in time for a trip in late October. That didn’t happen, and the CA came through… in May 2020. I haven’t ended up in the U.S. since then, between the pandemic itself and then Long COVID making things very hard, and my application would have lapsed, but I remember reading somewhere (don’t know if it was here or elsewhere) that the deadline is to make the appointment, not to attend, and that it’s possible to make an appointment far out and later reschedule without causing the application to be lost. Now I’m finally looking at a visit in a couple months, and hoping to be able to complete the process. Is there any concern that it would raise some eyebrows when I present myself with an application from almost four years ago with CA for around three and a quarter years? Or is it all fine as long as the website shows that it’s CA, pending at time of entry?

The latest publication on this topic from the CBP, dated June 20, 2023, is silent about the deadline to complete an enrollment interview. I suspect that if teh TTP website shows that you are still conditionally approved and the application has not been cancelled, you will be able to complete an EoA interview.

I’m not sure what you mean, that link does state:

You need to complete an interview within 730 days of conditional approval. If your application is cancelled, you can reschedule as often as needed.

Due to delays, the applications for NEXUS, Global Entry, SENTRI, and FAST will remain active (not expire) for 24 months after receiving the notification of conditionally-approved.
It does seem that having a confirmed appointment prevents the application from lapsing, at least on the website. (I do believe in the past, when the timeframe was one year, the language did specifically refer to having one year to *schedule* the appointment…) That combined with the ability to reschedule has allowed me to stretch it out this long while ostensibly still retaining CA status. I suspect that if I were to cancel the appointment (as opposed to rescheduling, which seems to be an atomic operation) the application would be promptly nullified, but obviously I’m not about to test that. I’m more concerned about the human factor, and that when the officer looks at the file and sees that the application is four years old that may cause issues, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

You are correct. I overlooked that language in the document which I linked.

I am still of the opinion, though, that if the TTP website shows that michab is still conditionally approved and their GE application had not been cancelled, they will be able to complete an EoA interview. michab has nothing to lose by trying to complete the enrollment interview upon arrival in the US.

Anyone with recent experience / knowledge of the EoA situation at LAX TBIT for first time applicants, in particular whether people can be processed for immigration at the EoA desk when doing EoA, or whether they have to join the regular immigration line first (expecting the latter, but hoping for the former…)?

Have 3 family members who need to complete enrolment, and would be very helpful if the regular TBIT immigration line could be avoided, especially as we are not US citizens / LPRs.

Appreciate any insight.

I’m interested in more info about TBIT at LAX too.

Slightly different situation for us, 2 of the 3 have already done their interviews so just 1 left to complete at LAX.

Will the one needing an interview need to queue at immigration and then EOA?

What is the setup currently at TBIT?

My experience is that we cleared immigration, were on our way out and I stopped to do my interview. My wife had to wait for me (she got approved online, but I made the mistake of admitting an upcoming intl trip so got the on arrival thing). I actually asked the officers there how to find the GE interview spot and they pointed me. In my case, I was able to use GE to get through immigration and then stop to do my renewal interview. I was just glad we landed early and got into line because otherwise they close it and you miss out.

So you were able to use the GE line rather than normal immigration? Was that because you asked the officers?

No, because it was a renewal application.

When an applicant already has active GE membership status, the person can use GE even while they have conditional approval status for the renewal application for GE. Therefore, it’s possible to use GE and then try to do the enrollment on approval process to do the renewal “interview” to seek final approval for the conditionally approved renewal application.

No, sorry for the misunderstanding. I cleared using GE because my GE was active, I was just in renewal mode, and they even extend you if you are in renewal. mode. I meant that when I cleared using GE I asked the agent how to do on arrival and he pointed me down the way to the interview spot.

Seems like there won’t be a way to avoid the regular immigration line at TBIT before doing EoA (my family members are first time GE applicants), so will be lining up twice. Unless it’s moved since last summer, I know where the EoA desk is. Hopefully the TBIT immigration line won’t be as bad as it was the last time we went through. A least if all goes well, it should be the last time we have to use the regular line as a family.

Two questions about EoA:

1) I am flying into JFK T4, is there a separate EoA lane? Does anybody have experience completing EoA at JFK T4?

2) I already scheduled an interview for Global Entry, before I found out EoA. If I try to cancel the appointment, it will cancel my global entry application. Will there be any issues if I try to complete EoA while I have an appointment scheduled a month later?
