The agent agreed and literally just processed it right there in like 5 minutes with the normal questions about not bringing in anything. So awesome and now have Global Entry!

Thanks so much for following up and congrats on getting through!

I'll be there Friday at 4:30PM and I hope for the same outcome...

I'll be sure to post back here.

All the best!

stcbus:

Had the exact same experience in PHX as you.

Walked up the officer at the Global Entry departure area.... and told him I was conditionally approved for a renewal, but he missed the "renewal" part and told me to get in the main line, which had at least 300 to 400 people.

So I told him I'd get an appointment in Vegas instead, and walked back for the face scan.

He then said, "Oh, you already have it and you're just renewing"... And sent me to booth with no line at all, and the agent whisked me through, after new photos and prints.

Interestingly, my GE expired on my birthday in '23, so I asked the woman if it would still expire on the same day in "28. She said yes.

But when I logged into my Trusted Traveler page, it shows I'm good until '29, and can submit a renewal request after my birthday in '28.

Happy we were in the same boat, with the same excellent result - and thanks for your report!

Conditionally approved for GE about 6 weeks ago. Arrived in to IAD on Sunday 25th June at around 9pm on a BA flight from Heathrow. Queue for standard immigration wasn't too bad (around 20 or so people), so went through the standard immigration route for ESTA holders, and mentioned to the CBP officer I was conditionally approved, and asked whether/where I could do EoA. He directed me to lane 50 (the farthest booth in the immigration hall, next to the GE and crew/diplomats desks). There were 4 people in front of me, and it took 10-15 minutes. Completed enrollment in less than 3 minutes, a few questions asked, and now all approved for GE on my next visit.

how long did it take after the interview for your approval to come through?

On my EoA renewal in PHX last week, the approval was instant.
Got home that night and my Trusted Traveler Dashboard was already updated with the new expiration date.

EoA MIA wait times

Hi.

I have an hour and 40 min connection in MIA. I land January 3rd at 6:40PM from Bahamas and fly out at 8:20PM to Michigan. Will I have enough time to do EoA if i already have conditional approval. Keep in mind this is not a renewal and this is a brand new GE account, but I already have PreCheck if that makes a difference. How long will the line be at 7pm on January 3 and how long does the interview take?

Thanks

If you are flying out of NAS, you will go through US Preclearance there, and that is where you will do your EoA. You will arrive in MIA as a domestic passenger, and won’t be able to do EoA there, so no need to worry about the connection.

I arrive in from MHH on a E175. Customs is in MIA. Will I have time?

We tried to do EoA in MIA last summer and it was an absolute disaster (and that's putting it mildly). When we told the agent we wanted to complete our renewal and do EoA, he processed our entry into the US but then they escort you back to the holding pen area with everyone else who's there for "extra assistance" - not just people there for Global Entry interviews. So here we are in this cramped room with 50 other people. No offense intended but it was obvious that no one else was in this holding pen waiting for Global Entry. Finally after waiting for an hour (with an increasingly cranky 3 year old), I went up to a surly agent and asked if he had any idea how much longer it would be. He was literally like "I have zero clue, we'll get to you when we get to you." We still had over 90 minutes until our flight to OKC but at that point we decided to just leave. They take your passports from you when you enter this holding pen so then we had to wait a few minutes for the agent to get up and sort through this massive pile of passports, which fortunately didn't take TOO long. Oh, and when we were leaving the holding pen (which is controlled entry/exit) a random agent started interrogating us about why are we leaving, where did we arrive from, etc, until the other officer I'd asked if we could leave (and he'd given us permission) finally overheard us and came over to let us out.

So yeah, I would pass on doing EoA at MIA unless they have significantly revamped their procedures for it.

I was a new applicant, not a renewal. Once I completed the EoA interview at Dulles, it took 2-3 days for my Trusted Traveller Dashboard to change from Conditionally Approved to Approved.

Am asking for a friend. I used GE at EWR last week and I couldnt see any signs for EOA. Did you have to line up in the regular line first with other non Americans etc (if you are a non american sorry if wrong) then ask for EOA when you got to the agent at the front of the line? Then you had to move to another agent?

I thought needing to use EOA would allow you to jump the line but guess could be wrong.

Thanks

Sorry - we're American citizens. But at EWR we definitely had to wait in the normal customs queue, see a customs agent, tell them what we wanted, and then after we cleared customs he directed us over to an agent on the far side of the hall who handled the EOA stuff. There was no special queue or back door to start the process.

Again, it was a bit quieter than I've experienced in the past, but no one was waiting for EOA. The incredibly surly customs agent didn't ask a single question, say hello, nothing - he just held out his hand, we gave him the passports/info and the kids had their GE in like 2 minutes. Fine by me.

You were so right. I talked to someone who walked out of that room who did EoA, took them 4 hours.

I will be flying BA to Miami next month, and wanted to to Enrollment on Arrival. I see that it is located in Concourse D, but my BA flight lands in E. Would I be able to go to D to do customs and the interview? Asking as I have never been to MIA before...

See above. MIA EoA is a mess and never a good idea unless you have 4/5 hours.

Question... I applied online in mid aug23. still pending. I'm flying to Atlanta in July... Is it possible this is confirmed before hand? Or when I arrive in Atlanta I can go to EoA and process finish there? How bad/good is it in ATL? long waits? thanks for any pointers...

I am not sure that I understand your question. You must be conditionally approved in order to complete your enrollment interview whether on arrival in the US or at an enrollment center.
