MIA EoA experience
So my full to the rafters BA A380 flight landed MIA on schedule on a week day afternoon in early May. As predicted CBP was a complete zoo. Not just with passengers from my flight but other flights arriving at similar times. Upon approaching the initial tensa lines, I advised the floor walker I had a GE EoA interview and I was directed to a different lane to other passengers which took me to an immigration official without any waiting. I was then advised to follow the blue line on the floor to the waiting area for my interview. Upon arrival at the waiting area, I'd literally taken a seat for less than 5 seconds before being called forward for the interview. No further ID or utility bills needed. Just a few simple questions confirming name, date of birth and that I'd no criminal convictions or previous arrests. I was then given a leaflet all about GE and advised the final decision would be made within 24hrs. I was then free to enter the US. I was out of the airport within 15 minutes of disembarking the flight. I received the confirmation email around 4hrs later that my GE had been approved. I was then able to put the full GE arrival process to the test a week or so later upon my return to the US (also MIA) and it worked a dream. TSA pre check also comes as an added extra with GE which still meant long lines at departure security (airport was extremely busy), however the lines moved quickly and I could leave shoes/belt on and leave electronic items in my baggage. My only regret about GE so far is not having enrolled previously.

EOA at IAD experience

EOA at Dulles (IAD) experience sharing:

After exit from people mover, go downstairs to custom hall. The Global Entry counter are at the most right side of the hall. One counter in Global Entry is open for EOA. Arrive at IAD at 4PM, and there were no long line at EOA counter. Just 3 people including me. I am a foreign passport holder, and was advised to go direct to EOA counter for interview and pass boarder control at same time. It only take around 5 mins to chat with CPB officer then take photo and fingerprint. Much faster then I anticipate.

JFK T8 experience Enrollment on Arrival

Last Friday I arrived at JFK T8 and here are my experience on the Enrollment on Arrival. My plane arrived after 7pm in T8. On the Global Entry website it is mentioned that boot #1 is the booth for interviews. What is not mentioned that it is after the baggage claim. I'm not sure if this is everywhere the same.

Around 8pm I had my luggage and whent to booth #1. There I was told I'm using the wrong exit. As i mentioned that I would like to do the Enrollment on Arrival, I got the information that no one is here. Maybe someone is coming after 8:30pm. It was around 25 min to wait. After me there were more people also wanted the enrollment on arrival. It took almost 40 min until someone showed up. I was the first at the booth and the fingerprint device made issue. I after some reset it was able to detect all 10 fingerprints. It took another 15 min I was released from the interview and I have to wait until the approval is showed in my account.

The craziest question I got was "why I make her life so difficult when I have arranged an interview for the next day". I kept the answer for myself. I mean she is paid to do such interviews. The interview was arranged before I got the information that I can do an Enrollment on Arrival and it was still my plan B. However, today I received the approval and all is fine.

Hi. Does anyone have experience of EoA at JFK on a Saturday evening? I arrive at T4 this coming Saturday and have conditional approval.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

How did it go? I'm going to attempt Enrollment on Arrival in a few weeks at JFK T4 on a Saturday early evening too. I'm wondering about the locations of the interview etc. Can I recheck my luggage before the interview?

Cheers

My partner did EoA at JFK T8 at 9.40pm on Wednesday night, one ahead. It's still at booth #1 after immigration and baggage claim although the signage is somewhat lacking. You need to walk towards the exit and as you pass the first metal barriers it's an immediate right (with a hand made Global Entry enrolment on arrival sign). Approval came through before we were off the AirTrain on the way to Jamaica.

That's great, thank you. Did you recheck your luggage before going to EoA (or was that your final destination)?

The reason being that I've got an onward flight (my last planned trip to the US had my interview all booked etc. but I broke my leg a week and a half before, so have arranged my trip in a few weeks to go via JFK so I can finally sort out an interview).

Re-check is after the customs hall and the EoA desk. JFK was our final destination but you wouldn't be able to double back to the EoA desk. It's the far right of the desks amongst the customs secondary inspection areas.

Thank you, that's a great help. I guess I'll grab luggage then EoA.

Cheers

EoA at PHL

Hi all - great thread. Has anyone done Enrolment on Arrival in Philadelphia recently? Trying to understand if you clear immigration normally first or pass through a different route to do enrolment interview. Thanks

I've got conditional approval for global entry and my next trip is GLA DUB MIA in a couple weeks. I planned on booking my interview at MIA, but chance an EoA at DUB.

My concern; if there is nobody available to do EoA at DUB (I've heard they've declined to interview recently) then as I've already cleared at DUB, will I be unable to complete my interview at MIA when I arrive?

Hello, Davea76, and welcome to FlyerTalk! You will go through the normal USCBP processing in the sense that you won't use the kiosk on your first entry. I can't speak to the setup at Philadelphia. I did have an entry there a few months ago, but I wasn't looking for enrollment on arrival. Some airports have dedicated lanes for those with conditional approval and wishing to do EoA. If someone else can't confirm the setup at PHL, I would ask upon arrival and look for signage about EoA options. If you don't see any, ask the CBP officer at passport control.

Hello, DanGLA, and welcome to the posting side of FlyerTalk! Your understanding is correct. Your flight will arrive to MIA as a domestic flight, so there is no opportunity to do EoA at MIA. MIA's location doesn't say by appointment only, so perhaps you could go to the regular enrollment location after arrival if you're unable to get an appointment. Failing that, I don't know if you'll be in Miami for a few days, but it looks like there's an enrollment location at Port Miami that says walk-ins welcome Tuesday - Thursday 8 am until 8 pm. Weekends are by appointment only, and FLL is also appointment only, according to CBP's website. Those are a couple of alternatives if you are unable to do EoA at DUB.

Thanks! I misunderstood that I could interview at any point during my visit and thought it had to be on arrival. I'll be able to find something that works for me if I can't do EoA at Dublin.

I noticed the Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival setup at LAX yesterday, when I arrived from LHR.

There are prominent signs just past the baggage claim area with an arrow directing conditionally approved applicants. Just before the exit from the FIS, on the left side, there are six (three sets of two) interview counters marked Global Entry. Two were staffed. No one was waiting to be interviewed or being interviewed as I passed by.

I’m hoping the interview can be done in C rather than having to go to the CBP office in terminal B?

Anyone gone through terminal C lately and saw any signs for EoA?

As an update to this, I managed to complete me EoA in Terminal C of MCO last week with no issues at all.

We went through the standard ESTA CBP queue and I asked the officer who was about to process me if I could do my interview there. The ‘interview’ consisted of me getting finger printed again, showing proof of address (driving license was fine) and answering some questions about what purpose my trips have, what I do for work and then more specifically what were the purposes of specific visits I had made - e.g. Turkey and Qatar. I was then told there and then that I was approved.

Admittedly, there was barely a queue in front of us at the desks and there was a very significant queue by the time we were done. So I’m not sure if the number of people waiting would have influenced the likelihood of an interview being done on the spot so easily.

Do they conduct EoA interviews at LAX on Sundays and during the holidays? I’m arriving on Dec 29, it’s the Sunday between Christmas and New Years so I’m worried they might be closed.
