I went from being “Conditionally Approved” with an interview scheduled in December to “Approved” without having done the interview. My current nexus card is expired. Do I need to request a new one, or will they mail the new card to me?

My NEXUS expires in April 2023. I have an interview scheduled for November 3rd, but am flying out on November 13th.

Would I still be able to use my old non-expired card pending arrival of my new one? As I assuming it may not get mailed to me in time for my departure

yes. In fact, given all the office closures (still), they are still extended automatically - as long as you have applied for renewal prior to the expiry date on your card - so even if had ‘expired’ you’d be able to use it until you receive/activate your new one.

in our family, we have 3 of 4 of us who have a valid Nexus while the ‘expiry’ based on the card date have passed. 7yo needs her interview…whenever the Canadian offices open again…wife and I renewed in March and July respectively, and still waiting to be waiting for pending approval. Also used said cards to go through Nexus into Canada and GE back to US last week.

My nexus card expires July 2023. I filed for renewal in August 2022 and just received a full approval today on September 27th. Was really expecting to not even hear back until sometime next year if I was lucky!

Greetings from Detroit which is directly on the Canadian border. I have crossed for a long time and my wife still does. We have had no problem. I’ve been to Canada ten or more times since the border reopened.

I am finally renewed.

I know this is a bit late, but I had submitted my renewal application in October 2021 (while we were at the Calexico POE as my GF was going for her GE interview), as my expiration date was April 2022. Since then, I’ve heard nothing, and was getting nervous about my trip to London, ON in early September. When I landed in YYZ T3, I went over to the NEXUS kiosk as usual, and scanned my NEXUS card (the old one, that shows an expiration date in April 2022), the system accepted it and I was able to breeze through. On the way out of YYZ T3, I needed to show my US passport at check-in since my NEXUS card was “expired”.

About 5 days after returning from Canada (September 17), I got a notification of a status change, which was that my renewal application was approved, with no interview required, and a new card would be mailed out. Today (September 30), I finally received my new card, which now has an expiration date of April 2027.

Second renewal for me and my wife.

29 Jul 2022: submitted renewal applications approx 1 hour apart
14 Sep 2022: first application approved, no interview required
15 Sep 2022: second application approved, no interview required
26 Sep 2022: first card received
29 Sep 2022: second card received

Applied renewal 14 months back.
Kids got conditional renewal instantly. For me and wife , it is pending review now for 14 months. Is there a way to expedite or check why it is stuck?

Applied in 2019, conditional approval in early 2020. Got a notification on my account app was cancelled, but it still let me schedule an appointment. Had to scrape the site every couple minutes to find an appointment, but got one in Blaine. Quick review of docs and usual criminal record questions, membership now good till $birthday in 2027.
