Does it sound like I can do a walk in for this?
I renewed my daughters nexus who is 14. She is conditionally approved and needs an interview.
I’d imagine it’s for an iris scan or photo update from her infant photo, but no details were provided as to why she needs an interview. I’m wondering if whatever it is, if it can be accommodated by a walk in appointment. I can’t imagine they have much to ask her! It’s a strange process. We are a family of 4, and I renewed all 4. My wife was approved in 3 weeks with a slightly expired card, my older daughter (16) was approved right away with an active card, and I took 14 months for approval with a slightly expired card. The interview is required for a renewal on an active card. |

Walk-ins are YMMV and can vary even within same enrollment centre (eg no-shows/individual officers work ethic).
I called the general questions line to see and they said the same thing, and they confirmed/volunteered without me asking that the grace period for her interview is now 5 years on her renewal, so that’s good news. |

I'm on day 17 post approval now and still no card. I hope this is not another trend in receiving new cards. :(

My renewal has been pending since 8/23/2021. Hopefully approval would come soon. Seems like there are many people waiting over an year for renewal. Thanks for all the DPs

For sure, and it's probably unrelated to my expired card. Another thing I noticed, of the 20 or more Global Entry kiosks just before the CBP windows at YYZ, only about 5 were actually turned on. All others looked unplugged.
I did, last month. See below: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...260b4b6729.png . |

Thanks so much for posting this. I wanted to make sure the Buffalo / Fort Erie office was still functioning, and this gives me hope! Was this a renewal or a new application? Am I correct in assuming it didn't require an interview because the Fort Erie office is closed?

While my conditional approval for Nexus renewal is now over 3 years, and I had an appointment scheduled for December,
today I applied to renew my APEC card, It was instantly approved, and then a few hours later I received notification that my Nexus renewal status had changed from "Conditional approval pending interview" to approved. Only 3 years!!! |

Only 3 years!!! Applying for or renewing APEC seems like a proven shortcut to resurrect dormant NEXUS applications and those waiting for interviews. Could it be that simple? |

Citizenship: Canada Second renewal application: 2021-08-09 Approval without interview: 2022-08-30 (386 days, 1y 21d) New expiry date (according to the TTP portal): birthday 2027 I was surprised to get the interview skipped — I had about six different home addresses in the past five years, and visited two additional countries (Iceland and the Netherlands). My card photo's also 10 years old, but I guess the machines have newer photo data to compare against from recent crossings. |

I'm still waiting for my new card. Used to only take 7-10 business days to receive the new card.
