This morning I submitted the renewal application for my 5 year old. It expires September 2023. See how long hers is in pending review since mine still is.

Oh yes, many of us renewers have been in Pending Review limbo for months and would like to know why. Fortunately, having applied for renewal before expiration, we can continue to use Nexus (incl. Global Entry and PreCheck) long (five years, according to some reports) after our current membership term expires. The only downsides for me are having no idea when I'll be able to interview at a conveniently located enrollment center, and the risk of having my Nexus card rejected as backup ID because its expiration date has passed. On the plus side, it sounds like more and more renewal applicants are having their interview requirement waived, even after they are conditionally approved.

That downside bit is a valid worry. TSA refused to accept my expired yet still active due to delays nexus card as ID.

Which enrollment center was your approval letter from? Not the return address on the envelope, but the enrollment center shown on the letter itself. Is it the same enrollment center at which you interviewed for your first card?
Nexus card in mail I think came from a US address. |
Applied for renewal November 14, 2021
Received approval: October 18, 2022 No interview required, card apparently is on its way. Original card expired May 2022. Renewal is good until May 2027. Now to wait for DW and kids applications. Does anyone know if renewals for minors will require an interview? |

Today I got a status change email. Uh oh. But it went to fully approved without interview expiry 2026. Wife same scenario but a year behind. Same email at the same time. Now expiring 2027. I guess that's one way to clear the backlog of appointments.... |

NEXUS Applicant, The Detroit Global Enrollment Center will be reviewing applications for AUTO-Renewal considerations over the next few days, eliminating the in-person need. If you want to be considered for this process, either log into your TTP account and verify that your passport and drivers license are valid, or scan the documents back and our technician can upload on your behalf. Applications with expired documents will not be considered. If you have any questions, please contact the Detroit Enrollment Center. |

The Vancouver enrollment center is also clearing Interview Required renewals.
Renewed: April, 2020 (Interview Required) Today: Approved, no interview required. |
