Note: I live in Vancouver, so Blaine is the closest NEXUS enrollment center. I had to recheck the availability many many times, before an appointment for the interview magically appeared and I grabbed it.

Good Luck to All.

Changed interview to today , drove to Blaine and all done now.

This morning I submitted the renewal application for my 5 year old. It expires September 2023. See how long hers is in pending review since mine still is.

Oh yes, many of us renewers have been in Pending Review limbo for months and would like to know why. Fortunately, having applied for renewal before expiration, we can continue to use Nexus (incl. Global Entry and PreCheck) long (five years, according to some reports) after our current membership term expires. The only downsides for me are having no idea when I'll be able to interview at a conveniently located enrollment center, and the risk of having my Nexus card rejected as backup ID because its expiration date has passed. On the plus side, it sounds like more and more renewal applicants are having their interview requirement waived, even after they are conditionally approved.

That downside bit is a valid worry. TSA refused to accept my expired yet still active due to delays nexus card as ID.

ID checker can only go by expiration date on your NEXUS card, because s/he has no way of knowing if you applied for renewal before expiration date.

Datapoint: Pending Review on a renewal since late Jan 2022.

Expiration: Dec 2022.

Which enrollment center was your approval letter from? Not the return address on the envelope, but the enrollment center shown on the letter itself. Is it the same enrollment center at which you interviewed for your first card?

Renewal approval letter was electronic and came from Montreal/Dorval, QC where I had the interviews for my original card.

Nexus card in mail I think came from a US address.

Applied for renewal November 14, 2021

Received approval: October 18, 2022

No interview required, card apparently is on its way.

Original card expired May 2022. Renewal is good until May 2027.

Now to wait for DW and kids applications. Does anyone know if renewals for minors will require an interview?

Today I got a status change email. Uh oh. But it went to fully approved without interview expiry 2026.

Wife same scenario but a year behind. Same email at the same time. Now expiring 2027.

I guess that's one way to clear the backlog of appointments....

The same thing happened to me (without the delay) with my previous NEXUS renewal so I don't know that it's because of the backlog that you get renewed without an interview.

Received the following email this morning

NEXUS Applicant,

The Detroit Global Enrollment Center will be reviewing applications for AUTO-Renewal considerations over the next few days, eliminating the in-person need. If you want to be considered for this process, either log into your TTP account and verify that your passport and drivers license are valid, or scan the documents back and our technician can upload on your behalf. Applications with expired documents will not be considered.

If you have any questions, please contact the Detroit Enrollment Center.

Sounds promising - how long have you been waiting and what's the current status? Eight months here now, and still pending review...

Promising indeed. You go, Detroit, city of my youth! I have heard nothing of the kind from Fort Erie, which strengthens my suspicion that renewals are largely in the hands of the enrollment centers.

Not sure if this is good for me or not! Got my initial approval 10 years ago at Detroit, five years later got denied in Detroit, but overruled by ombudsman. If I’m waiting on Detroit again that might not be a good sign lol

Expired last year, renewed May of this year, conditional approval in September. Scheduled interview at Detroit then for today given others' good luck with that center being proactive. However no luck so rescheduled for December while trying to get a closer and more convenient slot. Then this email. Fingers recrossed for full approval.
