VANCOUVER ENROLLMENT CENTER

CA

This is not the center where I originally interviewed. I originally interviewed at the Urban Vancouver office in late 2012 which is now permanently closed and this is my second renewal with no interview needed.

Thanks for sharing. I'll be interested to see where/if (lol) mine comes from. I renewed in May also and waiting, but my original interview office was at Toronto airport.

Conditional approval letter has a header of

NTC-P TTV

Sterling, VA 20164
US

A fully approved letter will have a header of most recent EC where last interview took place.

I had 3 renewals applications submit same time back to back where last EC was YUL. All 3 were process in 2-3 business days. 2 were final approved while one was conditional interview required.

How recent were these applications and approvals? Which of the applicants interviewed as part of the process for their most recent previous application (~5 years ago)? From these three applications, do you see any relationship between significant changes in application information and the interview requirement?

January 2021. Moved to a different state. The 2 approved without interview were minors. The one requiring an interview involved new employer, and driver's license from new state.

Finally approved, no interview needed! Took 411 days - I applied on May 27, 2021 and was approved today. New expiration date is five years after previous expiration, but I'll confirm once I receive the physical card.

Thanks for the data point! From which enrollment center was your approval letter addressed? Is that where you interviewed for your last application?

I didn’t get any letter (yet) - just an email notification of a status change. When I logged on it showed approved.

Go to Notifications, right at the top of your Dashboard. The approval letter will be there.

Thanks! Approval was issued by Montreal, same as where I initially interviewed, for my last application.

Our kid's cards were all conditionally approved on renewal (before the expiry date on the cards). I saw vague wording on the Nexus portal that expiration would be extended but it wasn't clear how long for (I think I saw posts mentioning 2 years, but wanted to confirm).

Do we need to travel with the conditional approval letter once their card expiry passes but before the (1 yr? 2 yr?) grace period passes? or are we fine to scan at the border the expired cards and it will just show as valid on their end?

No need to bring conditional approval letter.

Finally got my second NEXUS renewal completed! I was supposed to do it in Montana in May, though the left hand didn’t talk to the right hand and loaded appointments for Thursday’s (CBSA only comes to the US on Tuesday’s…). I chose the Detroit Ambassador Bridge location and arrived about thirty minutes early. They let me in and I was done with my renewal about fifteen minutes before my appointment time!

ETA: I was only asked to remove my mask for the photograph and kept it on for the rest of the interview.

My most recent conditional approval letter shows:
NTC-P TTV
--
Sterling, VA 20164
US

I originally interviewed at the no-longer-extant BFI location (and then renewed once with no interview required). This suggests it's pulling the address of one's original, or perhaps most recent, interview, with a fallback to some default if that location is no longer active. I doubt it's the location where the current app is being processed, since I'd be surprised if there were CBSA staff in a back-office in Sterling, VA (seems to be perhaps CBP headquarters?).

Edited to add: never mind, I see per another post above, possibly all conditional approval notifications show this address, so this may not mean anything.

Anyone who's received a new card recently: could you see if the envelope states do not forward or similar on the outside of the envelope?

busyizzy Jul 19, 2022 11:48 am

My data point:

Expiry: Aug 2021
Applied for renewal: June 7, 2021
Approved: July 18, 2022 (406 days)
No interview required. First renewal.
Have not received card yet as just approved this week
New expiry date on the system: Aug 2026

All my other family members and friends were about ... 2-7 days. So this was really giving me a lot of ANXIETY. Helps to see on from this thread that there's really no logic or reasoning behind this.... good luck, everyone!
