Touché. When I think of the Stans I think Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. I tend to lump Pakistan and Afghanistan into South Asia, since I guess that's how we group them at work.

#166 this afternoon - Tonga! 30 to go now!

Nice. Would be interested to see your "Final 30" list here or in the blog.

South Pacific: Samoa, Tuvalu

Random: Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Iceland

Americas: Cuba, Belize, Bahamas

Africa: Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Mauritania, Algeria, Guinea Bissau, The Gambia, Chad, CAR, Malawi, Madagascar, Uganda, Tanzania, Comoros

Middle East: Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Eritrea, Yemen, KSA

Samoa should happen tomorrow, Israel/Palestine/Lebanon in a couple weeks, and then I should get to at least 6 of the remaining africa/middle east countries over new years, bringing me under 20 two months from now. Then, the pace will seriously slow in 2015, with several one-off trips.

That's great!! You have quite a few easy ones on that list. That's great you managed to see so much of the South Pacific already.

I'm working in Yemen right now so if you come through Sana'a you'll have to come over to our compound for a homebrew. Unfortunately, due to security, I can't get out much but I can try to help you organize things on the ground here if you want. Security isn't great at the moment but will hopefully improve soon.

Just finished up 5 new countries in Europe, that puts me at #170 and 27 left to go if using Kosovo, Taiwan, Vatican, Palestine as 193+4. Though 5 of those are 'cheaters' and airport stops only. 18 are day trips only but the others I've spent at least one night. I have trips planned for 7 of them, so I'll have 20 left as of next March. (also will be validating one of the cheaters, Sri Lanka)

My remaining ones.
Central African Republic
Chad [mar15]
Comoros [jan15]
Gambia
Guinea
Guinea-Bissau
Liberia
Libya
Madagascar [dec14]
Mauritania
Mauritius [dec14]
Niger [mar15]
Senegal
Sierra Leone
South Sudan
Maldives [jan15]
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Croatia
Czech Republic [dec14]
Poland
Republic of Moldova
Slovenia
Ukraine
Cuba
Nauru
Samoa
Tuvalu

50. I was looking forward to an around the world ticket with miles, but it appears that Delta is doing away with them.

Nothing remotely comparable with the top scorer here, but just made 84. Arrived in Podgorica, and with Montenegro finally I've covered all Europe.

Now the real challenge is to get out of the hostel to celebrate with a nice dinner. This is not rain, more likely a Great flood. Diving equipment would be appropriate.

Funny - I just finished Europe (excl. San Marino and Lichtenstein) last week in Serbia just around the corner.

These are still on my to do list as well. I've got trips to other places scheduled through August 2015, but let me know if you'll be hitting any of these after that. I think I'll go back to Africa in October or November, either Southern Africa or West Africa.
