Couldn't agree more.
I tend to be "official" when comes to this list. Counting airports in connection is laughable.
Thanks to Kuwait and Bahrain last week, I can happily write down the number 80, eia eia alalà!

Wouldn't it be a swell if a flight between Andorra and Moldova existed?

Definitely

I have Moldova [and Cyprus] booked in early May, as well as Iceland at the end of that month.

Ironically, to get to LCA from KIV, I will be connecting in VIE...

My list: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12288031-post710.html

Been almost two years since I last updated my list in this thread. New totals:

59 by standard count; 67 by TCC count. All have been actual visits, not just airport stopovers, although Egypt is a bit debatable (if walking across the border 1km into the country and staying for an hour counts).

Here's one of the nicer maps I've seen: http://www.travbuddy.com/maps/6361893 Up to 29%! Sheesh, feels like I've worked harder than that...

Upcoming this year are UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and New Zealand.

It has a flag, its own currency, proper borders, requires a visa issued by the Somaliland Embassy… it is effectively a separate country… you can't just go there from Somalia as if it is not a separate entity.

The same goes for my visit to Transnistria last year.

If you use flightmemory, they are really generous with the country count. I may have been to about eighty, but that website counts 94...uh, what?

According to the Trip Advisor map I'm up to 48 now. Getting a Eurailpass and going around would up the total quite a bit, but alas...

Surprised how much enjoyed Kuwait city. Walking along the beautiful corniche in a comfy 20°C after a thunderstorm, pushed this city with Muscat in my favorite Gulf top place.
Bet must be different later in summer..

Did you really mean "flightmemory"?? They only count the countries you've flown from/into, not visited. And they consider Hong Kong as part of China, whereas for OpenFlights they're 2 different countries.
