Was very close to booking CNX-UBP on Kan, but their schedule didn't quite work for me. Either the route nor the airline came up on ITA. How is the airline?

Kan Air is a great little airline. Its ATR72 is spotless inside and the in-flight service includes free hot meals. A minimum of 15kg free baggage allowance and some real value for money promotional fares from time to time. Unfortunately it does have its problems from time to time due to no backup when its only ATR is out of traffic for whatever reason.

presumably this means "out of service" ... which would of course result in the CNX flight being CNX

A bit off topic but may be of interest. Kan Air was been on watch by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand for a year now due to liquidity problems. It suspended its ATR flights for about two months late last year and its leased ATR72 was laid up at Chiang Mai.

Both Tokyo and Seoul have multiple airports and so need to differentiate. As it happens Narita and Incheon are both names of the location of the airport predominantly used for longhaul flights to/from Tokyo and Seoul respectively.

Last year I did LEQ-ISC and back (went to Land's End and then went further, so to speak).
This year I shall do NYU-HEH which I would guess not many FTers have done.

In my opinion it makes perfect sense, at least for Parisians, to use Roissy and Orly for the respecive airports - much more so than Charles de Gaulle and Orly. The only difference to Narita and Incheon is that the airport has a different "official" name. As far as I know the French, they couldn't care less for anything official.

Remembering obscure domestic routes from the 1990s...
SEA-SQV
Commercial air service lasted IIRC only one summer season. It was more convenient than the SEA-CLM route which also eventually bit the dust.
