Looking back on what I wrote three years ago:

I'll be surprised if my tally grows past 60 anytime in the next several years. Most of the airports I'm missing are outside of my travel needs-- I have no business there, no family there, or no desire to vacation there; or the airport is within 100 miles of a much larger airport with much better routings so I'll generally fly there & drive.
I'm currently at 57/100. As I predicted, I only added a few (4) new airports in recent years. Indeed, it's because most of the rest are airports I have little reason to travel to-- unless I begin ticking them off my bucket list.

I have a goal of flying my own plane (well, a rented one) in as many states and countries as possible. So far 3 states and 6 countries.

Can't recall if I already mentioned this, but I'd like to fly from every North American destination with a non-stop to the two main Tokyo airports.

Missing SLC was a bummer, but as of now I've got YVR, SEA, SFO, LAX, DEN, IAH, ORD, YYZ, DTW, BOS, JFK, EWR, and IAD. Fortunately, there are plenty of choices left, and with Tokyo being one of my favorite places to visit, it shouldn't be too dolorous.

It really is a PITA - but of course totally expected. The Top 100 airports has changed again - the 2014 list from the FAA is here http://www.faa.gov/airports/planning...planements.pdf

Since I have a huge number of the top 80 only really affects the 81-100 airports. I now notice MYR is in the list so will have to do that one. The good news is AZA has moved out so removes the need for that Allegiant flight.

So is mine but to do that I have to use airports. I keep a record of all I have traveled through - i.e. a take-off and landing.

So last night flew into BUF. My schedule this weekend is
Friday DAY-ATL-BUF (BUF new) - drive to Syracuse
Saturday SYR(new)-LGA-GSO (new)
Sunday GSO-DTW-SYR --- DRIVE TO Buffalo then BUF-DTW-DAY

3 new top 100 airports in the weekend.

Will be down to SJU, ONT, GUM, SFB, MYR but next weekend I am traveling to California and flying in/out of ONT so will be down to 4 top 100 airports according to the FAA website (2014) in post above.

While I love adding and flying to new airports, I have more of an aircraft goal. For example, I would like to add the MD-82 (before AA retires all of them) and the 747 (any variant) to my list. So far with the 737 series I have flown on the -200/-300/-400/-500/-700/-800. I can't get the rare -100 anymore but I would love to add the -600 (WestJet) and the -900 (not hard to find at all) at some point.

I do keep track of aircraft but not to the same extent. Recently (after >1100 flights) I finally got to fly in a 747. ^

Well officially traveled in and out of BUF, SYR and GSO this weekend. So I am now down to (2014 FAA list) SJU, ONT, CAK, GUM, SFB, MYR . ONT already booked for next weekend.
