Where does the KVS tool get its data and is KVS authorized to provide this data in the manner it is presented?

The tool is known to access a variety of web sites, many in a manner that is not authorized. Please see the next section of this Wiki for a list of sites believed to be accessed and their data access policies (where known).

Additionally, under some conditions the tool appears to access sites via a KVS-operated back end. This means that the tool is not just a 'web browser' that runs via a user's machine. No detailed public information is available about how this works or whether any of this back-end access is authorized.

Edit: Also, I'm getting quite a few errors/no availability shown results when using the AF method. Could this be a glitch in the airfrance.us booking engine, or something else? Sometimes it shows me the proper availability, other times it's just this:

Well, that's exactly what you would get if you selected "SkyTeam" instead of the "DL 3-Tier" option under [Airline:].

Edit: Hmm... but I'm not showing _anything_ on the PAR-ATL leg either... and it isn't just this search- many other searches have given a null result when the award space is actually there.

Using the internet at school (which is filtered) with KVS on my laptop, even after setting the proxy server and my proxy authentication details, none of the award methods except DL-SkyTeam are working, and I'm getting a disconnected error. (DL works fine) Do you know why this is the case? The individual airline websites are not blocked- so I can access the ANA/BA/AF website through my browser, but when using the KVS tool, I get an error. (9002- Disconnected)

Maybe I'm being dense here, but what is the process to get an M&M account without having miles? The old suggestion (which is on the website as well), is to get a Jet Friends account which is for a child. I actually got that to work (which was odd since it is only for children and had to adjust my birth date), but the username and password still don't let me search. I get the same "requires a permanent account" message. I linked it to my existing M&M number (with no miles) and maybe that's why??

I also tried creating an account from scratch, but the login and password never worked on the M&M site and eventually got locked out

Can someone walk me thru the steps, or has something changed and this won't work anymore?

When you sign-up for a new JF account, you will receive a JF Card & PIN by postal mail.

Please try and fix this in the future. I can never remember the very difficult password that you generate and thus find the mobile tool useless.
