How are F, and J upgrade classes - vs. being paid first or business class, and C, R, T, U are missing which are upgrade and award classes? I don't think the green shows anything more than what you may want to upgrade to but not availibility of awards and upgrades.

Agree. The KVS tool only shows fare classes that are available to purchase. If you want the upgrade/award classes use expertflyer.com

It is a step up from the seat maps in AA.com but the real meat and potatoes of cheap-o travel is the power of ExpertFlyer and the availbility of point and sticker upgrades. EF is worth every penny, not the $5 version either - you'll burn through 250 inquiries the first week as I have.

My first go at EF got me a YYZ-SCL trip in B (1.5 Q miles) upgraded with 20,000 miles vs. 50,000 and $500 copay for a whopping $1660 CDN ($1200 US) vs. Y2 for $2,560, or Y for $4190. Had to call AA to get it but it was there to quote to the rep on the phone. So US$99 a year for a saving of $1,000 CDN first try.

I never said that F/J were "upgrade classes". Classes A/F/J are award/upgrade classes and have been highlighted in green in my original post. As per [FewMiles' Unofficial Guide to AAdvantage]:
  • A: "Upgraded": "from coach on 2-class flight using miles/VIPOW"
  • F: "Award": "AAnytime award travel"
  • J: "Award": "AAnytime Award travel"

Showing AAnytime award inventory is the easy part. If there's a tix to sell its yours for double the miles.

Also, I noticed that A inventory is not shown on KVS for Int'l flights to NRT on 3-class 777's.

Well in reality J and F are full fare J and F and are not the classes that people want to use e.g. nobody wants to do AAnytime awards at double the tariff. I have to say that you did say and quoted yourself that the "upgrade classes" are in green. Unless someone has C, T, U, A, R and X you haven't got the straight dope, albeit this service is free.

No, for the 2nd time, I did not say that. My original post clearly stated (and still states) that "AA award/upgrade classes are in green".

Hey,

I just updated the tool today, which was working fine, and now everytime I conduct a search it says

It says error resolving data
Resolving Host
Name Not Resolved

Does anyone know how to help?

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it

Many Thanks

F and J are not award classes any more than Y is. They are full-fare buckets, and AAnytime awards come out of them as well. Since I don't believe KVS is purposefully trying to mislead anyone here, he just must not understand how the AAnytime awards work.

Getting to see A availability is nice.
