"I" class seats, and "search function"?
Based on the new upgrade "I" seat class for upgraded seats (see post #39 on this link: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=430051), when (or if) will this class of seats show up on CWT ITN, or through the use of other search functions using the KVS tool?
PS-I hope you are not saying that "I" class will not appear, as suggested in the question in your FAQ section: Interpreting The Results: Factors that can affect availability: POS (Point-of-Sale) -- i.e. who is requesting availability and where are they from?: An excellent explanation, courtesy of a FT member spanzviewmaster: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...=40#post3380501 |

[Edited to Add:] Good news: As of today, I class appears to be available through all 6 access methods ... |
via Gallielo I see C9 I6 ... but Apollo ITN/CWT I see no "I" fare yet -- given it is visible via Gallileo, does that mean the tool will be able to see it via the other interfaces?
Update: Apollo does show I6 - just not where I was looking! -- PB |
A concreate 'use case' about how KVS helped me.
I had a ticket for morning flight PDX-ATL when I decided to move it to a night flith a day before. The flght was fully booked and Delta even didn't want to put me to a waiting list. I executed a query in KVS periodically since yesterday but today all of a sudden one place showed available. I called immediatelly Delta and booked it! What's a luck, I couldn't do it without KVS!:-)) Thanks for the great tool! P.S. contribution is on the way |

Uh have not heard of KVS before
Can someone explain to me what KVS is and how you have used it on UA to fly and upgrade etc....
Probably most people know but I was not aware of this tool before. Thank you. |
I use the "free" version. It shows me fare bucket availability on most carriers (the same f9 a9 y9 b9 etc format). But, some of the cheaper buckets that are still available through consolidators don't show on KVS. Maybe I need to switch the GDS that it searches to be able to see those too.
One thing I really miss not being able to do is see award bucket availability on LH/UA/SQ. For some (unknown) reason, KVS is unable to show those. From what i have read, even the paid versions don't offer that. So, i am guessing the *A carriers pulled that out of the GDS. I use the KVS tool in combination with the *A electronic timetable to decide routing. Being 2p, i get E+ seating. but occasionally when my wife or kid come along, i end up having to buy a E/M/U fare for them to get one of them into E+. In such situations, its easier to use KVS than United.com's fare availability feature. |
I agree - - very useful for looking at paid fare bucket availability. Not able to see upgrade or award availability.
