Welcome madalynn!
I've proposed your name to Admin for a "green" name, indicating you are here as a product / service representative. (ah, and now it has happened, madalynn!)
I've also seen some improvement in the TripIt (I subscribe to Pro) product, but still prefer to have further options in printing out an itinerary. "Hide Maps and Directions" option is good, but sometimes I want to print out an itinerary for myself, with all the details, and on other occasions I want to print out a much more limited itinerary for co-workers, neighbors of family members that does not contain personal data such as pricing, PNRs, etc.
I frankly prefer the old format, but if we're going to have to live with changes, I'll review some of my itineraries and see what else I can comment on and hopefully provide some constructive feedback, as you are taking the time to be here with us.
OK, I'll add bit by bit.
Frustrations / improvement:
Yesterday, I spend significant time and effort updating my itinerary for next week because flight data had not updated automatically. At least twice, as I made changes, when I attempted to save, I received an error message and my changes were lost. Frustrating, to say the least.

Based on your feedback, we've made some changes to the itinerary page that should address most of the issues with the new design:

Thanks again for taking the time to post your feedback here. We take all of your concerns seriously and we're very grateful to have such passionate users who care so much about improving TripIt.

Given that pre-amble, I would like to register a request that TripIt somehow support a streamlined itinerary. My purpose for this is that I want to be able to e-mail my wife a simple itinerary (transportation [planes, trains: carrier, times, #, departure, arr], hotels (arr/dep dates, name, address and phone #).
When sharing itineraries (with family, friends, co-workers, clients, etc) one rarely wants to share all the details one needs/wants for traveling. None of those people care what seat I am in, what I paid/am paying for a tkt or room, what my PNR is... They just want to know where I will be, when I am coming or going and my hotel phone #. Second, I want to send that info to them quickly and easily. I don't want to force them to hit a link to see what I am doing when simply an e-mail will do. I know you want to sign them up and, if I was getting a free service from you, I would have no complaint on that. But I am paying for TripIt Pro and since I am paying, you should do things in ways that I am comfortable with. If this is hard, I will look at alternatives (I switched years ago to TripIt when WorldMate became a little to cloud based for my use/taste).
Finally, the new interface with points, trips, etc as a layer is a pain. Please just list my itineraries so I can get to the one I am on. First of all, there are many programs you don't track points on anymore so that's useless. The reason I have TripIt on my android is that when I am traveling, I want to get to MY CURRENT TRIP as quickly as possible to check on info, flights, alternatives. layering my itineraries so I have to hit a couple of buttons everytime I want to check on something is a pain. When I am in a trip (and you know when they start and end), I am in trip mode and I just want to application to open to the current trip. Doesn't that make sense.
Thanks for listening.

A quick trip it question.
I have a pnr with a stopover where the first flight is a return flight of one trip and the rest belong to another.
Is there a way to separate them and arts h to different trips - currently all flights on that one pnr are grouped together causing utter confusion as there is plenty of time and other travel in between so nothing auto posts correctly.

For the itinerary page, we're still working on some additional enhancements based on the feedback we're hearing. Again, we sincerely appreciate how much our users care about the product and we follow all your comments very closely.

Thank you, madalynn.
If I experience difficulties like this in the future I will certainly try to annotate and add them to the help form. That's quite helpful.
I think some of us at least would like, if it's possible, a "More", "All Details" or similar button that could reveal all the details in an itinerary when I am looking at it, instead of having to click "More" on each and every segment of the itinerary. Some of my itineraries are sufficiently complex that gets irksome.
I also agree with the recommendation given previously about being offered the current itinerary and option to select others in the mobile (I use the Android) version.

I'm very sorry to hear you experienced problems updating your itinerary. The best way we can help in a situation like this is knowing what page you saw the error on, what the error said, when it happened and what browser you were using. If we have this information we have a much better chance of fixing the issue. You can leave this information in our help form: https://www.tripit.com/uhp/feedback

Been using TripIt for a few weeks now. As for feedback, when I change a flight/hotels reservation, it adds my new itinerary, but also keeps my old one. I then have to go in and manually delete the old reservation. Am I doing something wrong or does the program just not delete the old plans?

Not happy since upgrading to Tripit Pro I have had no end of problems with new bookings, not the old ones which were in there under the free application.
One leg of a multi leg trip is not being monitored yet was picked up from the same booking email?
Not Happy Jan....

Problem with European items
Madalynn, please see my comments on this thread about the continuing problems with European items.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...l#post19699911
In summary, every single item of the five I forwarded does not get added and turns into a note. I have sent problem reports and get a response that formats must have changed. Since this involves Hilton, Viator and Austrian National Rail System, I really doubt they ALL changed.
Thanks for your participation in Flyer Talk and I hope this gets fixed before I switch to Worldmate or Kayak.
Thanks

Thanks to everyone here for taking the time to share your feedback. I've personally reviewed all the conversations here, all feedback sent to our support team, and all comments posted to Facebook and Twitter. I'm pleased to share we just rolled out some updates to the itinerary page, and there will be more to come. That being said, I cheated on you all recently
and I went off to look at the competition. And, I still think TripIt works best for me. However...I'm a bit disappointed by how much it's stagnated, it ceases to feel innovative.
* First step: please hire the developer(s) behind TripDeck for the iPhone. It integrates with TripIT. Incorporate a lot of their UI elements into the web site and apps. Incidentally, the Apps and web UI need a consistent interface. They're not currently.
* Why can't I see the full date for a day in my itinerary on the web? I see only, for example "Nov...." That's the most useless piece of info: I know I'm traveling in November. At least show the day of the week.
* Why was the map removed from the front page? I think it should be bigger, and more accurate (it used to only register one city from a multi-city itinerary). Now it's basically gone, hidden behind a bunch of clicks.
* I wish you'd show thumbnails instead of those ugly grey suitcases on the main page. I also wish that (a) you expanded your image selection, (b) automatically picked an image for say, the top 250 cities for tripit travellers, and (c) let me upload a picture from a URL.
* I think it would be nice for an improved "Travel Stats" -- a separate page perhaps, with fancy shiny graphs showing all kinds of statistics about my travel. That interests me a great deal. If not a whole thing, an annual report would be cool at least.
* The whole thing needs a minimalist web 2.5 feel...stop showing me so many ads. You want me to book travel through you? Give me one button: plan a new trip. Store general preferences ("do you prefer city center or close to destination address?", "what kind of rental car?", "do you like to travel on sunday?", "what hotel program is your priority?" , "what airline is your priority?"). Then, I should be able to click this magic plan a new trip button, enter destination address(es) and then you generate a whole proposed itinerary according to what you know about me. Dear god, If you got this right and make good suggestions 80% of the time? Bam, you just got alot of my travel business...and could really revolutionize corporate travel. Corporate travel agencies really suck, especially their web sites. The one-off buttons that exist today that say things like "book a hotel yet?" and link me to some lowest-cost thing is not what I want. I can do those things better myself, you have to be *better than me* at it.
Anywho, I hope you take some of the suggestions you hear of flyertalk very seriously, there's a lot of travel money on forums like this and it's available for the taking when you provide good service and products.

Interesting to read all the feedback about the site. I love TripIt but NEVER use the website. Just the app on my phone. Thinking about checking out the site to see what all the hype/fuss about the updates are all about.

Ah, apparently Mobiata is owned by Expedia. Didn't realize. In any case, the apps for iPhone and Android are not that bad anyway. I don't really like the iPad app though. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm not sure they really "get it" that they need to evolve the product, it's really been not changed so much in years and I doubt my pleas on flyertalk will make a difference.
I'm kind of hoping someone comes along soon and creates a TripIt-like start-up that does it better.

Goodbye Tripit.
The last straw was when I forwarded a Doubletree Reservation for Charlotte and got the Unable message with the stock "format change" reply when I reported it.
Kayak trips handled it fine so that's my tracker from now on.
Sorry Madalynn
