KVS its really false advertising to say that if you just purchase a renewal we'll get a temporary code, when that isn't the case. 15 hours still nothing.

As noted on the KVS Tool website, GMail will not deliver automatically-issued Temporary Credentials.

We have now issued your code manually.

I have had no problems at all - other than slight delays at times with KVS...

In fact, using the Tool is *so much easier* than dealing with the M&M website or app (which uses the website ::facepalm::), which is hopeless - and they never fix it!

Is a download to a desktop/laptop required to become a KVS tool user? How can I do browser only?

Yes, you need to download and install a program on your computer - must be Windows or lot of extra work if another platform.

Why are these credentials being filtered by gmail?

I cannot answer for KVS but I do have my own experience where gmail - unlike many other mail providers - will restrict files with certain content from being delivered. It also detects if file extensions are changed to try to bypass restrictions and also looks inside zip files to see whether the files within the zip meet gmail's rules.

Actually, when I was involved with Kevin (aka KVS) few years ago, he was using Gmail himself. Not sure what he is using nowadays though.

I started using the KVS Tool this week. I used a non GMail adress and had no issues registering. However, I encountered some issues

- ANA Award search through partners only partially showed correct results. Checked with M&M/ AC / SQ (always wants Captchas!)
Sometimes I get a seat, sometimes shows no award availability
- Especially the Power Search does not work for me (or I don't know how to use it?). That would be a killer feature but he shows me no flights or just for one day even though I choose several days and I can see award availability (example SFO - HND)

Yes, SQ always requires *multiple* CAPTCHAs.

Not using ANA award search - no point for me to do so - I use AC/M&M primarily - and it's mostly *much better* than having to log into Aeroplan's or M&M's websites...

I know hotmail/outlook.com does something similar. Completely blocks (never shows in SPAM and the sender doesn't get a bounce-back either) for a lot of "verification" emails (ie, you create an account on some forum, it sends you an email verification link and you never get it). The one time I was able to get an admin (from the sending system) to look at the logs, it appeared that MS would reject/whack the connection if the email had "too many links/URL's" So I created a gmail account to get around that, but seems that Google is now doing something similar.

No, it doesn't work that way - I have been involved in administering mail servers including bulk mailing services (we were sending up to 200K mails a day) for some time and had to deal with Microsoft, Google, AWS, Yahoo and many others about that. It all depends on how well your mail server is set up (there are heaps of ways how to make sure your messages don't get dumped if you are legitimate business) and "reputation" of your servers.

If you run shonky business like KVS does than you cannot have all the required settings to have/gain good "reputation". Obfuscating your real location (is it Canada, USA or Bahamas or whatever country it is), misusing other business services etc, will not work.

I guess Chase doesn't know how to setup a mail server then. BTW I was an email admin for a large government agency and I can assure you that the large providers (MS/Google) would block things (not let them through as Spam) and had nothing to do with the incoming IP "reputation score" (static Class B owned by a large State Government agency). Although trying to get ahold of someone at MS was a royal PITA.

Now we've migrated to O365 where all mail (there is no delineation between "internal" and "external" with O365 Gx tenants) gets treated the same. We've had repeated instances where "internal email" (ie, I send an email to my colleague right across from me) gets treated/marked as Spam.
