Is there a way to search for IN availability? Business saver for high status FF on UA?

I know that in most cases availability for IN matches I, but not always.

Incidentally you made a typo in the email address ;)

I completely understand why you steer people to the EF email address for more directed help, but there can be value in "is this also broken for anyone else" type of questions or others may have helpful ideas before EF is able to answer.

And while FT search is clunky and not everyone uses it, there is also value in being able to search the thread.

Consider also that there are threads in Travel Tools for things like Google Flights and ITA Matrix and the ITA userscript.

So I think on the contrary FT can be useful for tech support, even if you don't want it to be an official support channel (which is fine).

I did. I am no ITA expert and had to play around with it quite a bit but was able to find the right flights. Quick comment, LAN is a mess. They have different flights by affiliates and though they are operated by LAN, sometimes they are operated XL, LP, etc - and then they are marketed by other affiliates.

After finding the flights in ITA I was able to find the flights in EF by splitting the segments. Basically my ticket is 1 RT NYC-GYE via XL, and then GYE-LIM via LAN and GYE-LIM via LP and AA.

Now I have to figure out if it makes sense to create alerts for each to figure out if I can get a better fare....

Can EF finds award availability DXB-BOM on Emirates?

Emirates is one of the airlines that EF can search for award availability

Do you think there is something special about DXB-BOM such that EF might not find award space on those flights?

Trying to create an alert in vain.
All available seats got grayed out on seat map
What am I doing wrong?

The grayed out seats are already available. The purpose of Seat Alerts is to notify you when seats or seat types that are not currently available become available. Why are you trying to create an alert for seats that are already Available?

If you need further help please note the seat/flight specifics you are referring to, or email us directly at [email protected]

Generally Alaska Air shows Emirates availability from North America but it does not show from DXB, so I was wondering is it worth paying EF?

Is there a way to set up an alert for IN availability on UA? EF won't let me set up an alert for anything with 2 letters.

No, the extended award classes are not shared by UA, that's why they are not listed in the Award & Upgrade search.

Expertflyer Voice,

Thanks.

I was actually trying to search for upgrade space from Y to C. When found C0, and wanted to setup an alert via email.

Upgrade inventory has nothing to do with physical seats. You want to create a Flight Alert, not a Seat Alert. Flight Alerts are part of our Premium service: http://www.expertflyer.com/frequent-flyer-programs

I'm having trouble getting American Airlines "E" inventory (Same day change) to show up.

Is this a known issue?

Yes, however AA is currently working on the issue for us.

Update - E class is now available again.

EF newbie here, so please be kind with the flames. ;)

I have been looking for a MR that will give me the 12,500 EQM I need to fulfill a Plat challenge, of course looking to minimize $$, BIS, and overall time. Given my calendar, it looks like I'm going to have to do one RT rather than stringing together several segments. I found a great price ORD-HKG-ORD on AA.com (my butt is already screaming at me), so I decided to check EF to see if I could do better. I found an AA fare basis that gives me an even better rate, but I'm not sure how to use that code to search for available flights. I'm not exactly tied into a particular day to leave, so I could search for it across several weeks.

Sooo, long story not-so-short, is there a way to search for flights using the fare basis found in EF? Or am I going about this completely wrong? (not the first time)
