Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
- Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
- Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS
To search AA upgrades:
- Use the Award & Upgrade tool
- Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
- To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

Experiencing the same issue with timetable by airport function.
What bugs me even more: what happened to the beta version that was accessible under beta.expertflyer.com? The layout of the website and even more so of the mobile site was far superior. Suddenly not reachable anymore. I am now back to using the old version which looks like a government application form from the 1970s.
Wrote to customer service with both these issues, never got any response.
What are alternatives to expertflyer?

In case anyone is listening:
Enhancement requests:
1) Add a REVERSE ROUTE arrow between "Departing Airport" and "Arriving Airport." Most travelers come back to their home town at the end of a trip. So if one initially types in MCO-DCA, it should be anticipated that one will also need to search something for DCA-MCO.
2) Under seat map, stop forcing me to choose by cabin. I want to see all cabins at once. Always. Showing me too much information is not a bad thing. Making me always check all boxes, or select "First" AND "Business" AND "Economy" from separate drop downs is a bad thing.
3) Add editing/copying of flight alerts
4) Allow for more than one fare class to be added to a single flight alert.

Edit: It still appears possible to have EF send text alerts by completing one of the email lines in the account page with the carrier's email platform. For example, [email protected] (Verizon)
Did EF mention that this was still working?

It is a shame, especially since it's very fixable. I wish they were maintaining it better.

It seems like with some simple modifications, EF could use a service like Twilio or Clicksend to handle the delivery of text messages.
IMHO, EF is on life support, with no active development, and when things break it is unknown if they will be fixed. I still see value in it, but also think it could be so much better.

Are you sure this is still working for you? I tried it myself and didn't get a text message. Create a new alert with the "Send Test Email" option to see. Just being able to enter an @vtext.com address in an email field doesn't mean it will work when it EF tries to send the email later.
As a separate test, when I send a standard email from Outlook to [email protected], I get the text.
Looks like EF is not sending emails to vtext.com... or vtext.com is actively blocking as spam.

I just added a second and third email address in my EF account. Email 2 is [email protected]. Third email address is an active address. When sending the test seat alert email, I get the emails from my first and third email address, but do NOT get the notification at the @vtext.com email address.

The way I achieved this is by having a rule in my GMail which forwards the EF emails to another email account (not GMail - my ISP gives me an email address). Then I have a rule in the other account that forwards the alerts to my vtext address. The reason I'm using a non-GMail address is because I found it didn't work directly from GMail, at least with Verizon.
