Thanks for the update on surcharge information. How can I use this Fare code value in MATRIX ITA Software. I am assuming its in Extension code field. I am not able to figure out. If somebody can help that will be very helpful. I am trying F..<Farecode>. Is that correct format. If somebody has any links on how to different extension code field values can you please share here.

I think this is probably out-of-scope for this thread, but I don't know if one exists for matrix. If it helps, when I use matrix I generally don't enter any advanced routing codes, but it can help to use "multi-city" to force a specific routing and to select specific flights. I always select "time bars" for the results page so I can select individual flights, and if you hover over a flight you can see the fare class. I think you are getting too hung up on this specific R class fare... widen your scope to see what the best available is... there was not a huge difference between R and I on the flights I found (about $150, which on a $3.5K fare is loose change). I find expert flyer an incredibly useful tool and even though I have been grounded for over a year now I still maintain my subscription. It is even more powerful when combined with other tools like matrix... as your specific case illustrates.

P.S. search +/- one day and you will find BA flights for under $3K.

ExpertFlyer does not control if/how fares are filed with co-terminal information, that is up to the airlines and the GDS to return when the request is made.

So if I am searching Flight Availability for LAX, co-terminals like ONT will appear in the search results, which sometimes I want and sometimes I do not. Does this mean I cannot control for that?

Correct, it depends on if there are enough viable options at LAX or not and how broad/narrow your search is.

I’m trying to set up an alert to let me know if the business class configuration for my flight changes.
United has two types of 763s:
”Type 1”: 6 business class rows with 5 seats in each (AB-D-KL).
”Type 2”: 10 business class rows with 3 seats in each (A-F-L in odd rows, A-D-L in even rows)

Both types a coded as “763” in ExpertFlyer, so a regular “Aircraft Change Alert” probably won’t work.
Any hints on how to set this up?

The Aircraft Change Alert looks at both the equipment code in the Seat Map (not in the schedule) which can be more specific, as well as the exact layout of the Economy cabin, which almost always varies with different sub-configs of an aircraft, so yes it will probably work for you.

Thanks. The economy layout would indeed change if the sub-config changes, so that should work.

Hello,
Does EF show AP award availability across Star Alliance? I signed up for the 7 day EF promotion, but so far it appears searches are narrowed to a single airline not an alliance.
Thanks.

That is correct, a search is per airline.

Hi, what is the ETA on getting EK award searches available again?
I just renewed my subscription exactly for EK award searches/alerts and was surprised that it is down.

Looking at Delta flights international, there are many fares like KL1J06M7/WNI8 which don't show any rules text on EF. Where can I find the rules, is this a sub fare or something?
thanks

Unfortunately sometimes when there are several fares published with the same fare basis code it may not be possible to uniquely identify them to get the reservation system to return the specific fare rule in question. If you see a blank response, that is what's happening.

Tbanks, so how can I identify the fare basis code from eg KL1J06M7/WNI8 ?

That is the fare basis code, the issue is that the reservation system can't uniquely identify it so it can't return the rules.

Is there a known issue with sending text alerts to T-Mobile numbers? I have my TMO email address ([email protected]) included in my profile and have always received texts for alerts in the past, however recently it stopped working. I sent a text to myself through my own email and it worked fine, so the issue doesn't seem to be on TMO's end. Thanks!
