"award inventory is temporarily unavailable due to an issue with our data provider. They are actively working to fix the issue. Thank you for your patience."

I'd suggest trying alternate sites to find award inventory. For BA and QR, you can try the BA and/or AA web sites.

Please when do you expect this to be fixed? It's basically unusable for me now.

I don't have any relation to EF aside from being a long-time subscriber, but I'd suggest sending their support team a message to ask for an ETA on this being resolved, and request that they extend your subscription until it is.

i was just wondering with the drastic changes especially in Asia with limited flights and availability, has anyone had any recent experience to confirm the information is accurate and that the software can get the real time update info in regards to schedules, available class and seats etc ?

It is real-time information. I have a lot of recent experience of this, especially in relation to flights to/from HKG, over the past three months. Even the alerts, which are only checked periodically, sometimes beat the airline's official communication.

Thanks

I'm dealing with the same thing... it is really frustrating. Especially when trying to get these booked as far out as possible so there actually is availability. It really shouldn't take this long to fix something like this.

Why is EF showing duplicate EI 52 flights for the week for any availablity during the week of August 21 thru the 27th? and why is Google Flights only showing 1 flight on the 26th that week? I'm trying to determine whether my booked flight will be/or is cancelled and require changing the flight. Earlier this week, Google wasn't showing any EI 52 inventory at all.

I'm new to this forum/thread, so excuse me if this has been clarified previously. The reason for my concern is that Aer Lingus has been cancelling many flights, but leaving the seats open for purchasing on their site a month or more after the fact. I have put alerts on EF that might indicate if a flight is going to be cancelled.

Because for some reason the reservation system we use when you specify EI as the airline is returning the flight 2x. If you don't specify an airline, you'll see it's returned once (different reservation system).

It seems like the “C’ upgrade inventory check for American Airlines just broke. I just got a flight alert that prompted me to look it up, and it looks like all flights on AA right now are showing an equal number of seats open in “J” (AAnytime) as in “C” upgrade.

I got an alert at midnight Pacific for every single LHR to DFW/ORD/LAX flight on June 18 for C space. It isn't real and now I have to set them up again. So annoying.

It's just a single click on the "resubmit" button on the alerts page, isn't it?

At least you can search for awards... I'm still sitting here waiting for the award availability to work for Qatar, Etihad, BA... It's very frustrating.

The ability to search BA award/upgrade space has been dead for several months. It is really frustrating... :mad:

It looks like AA pushed the wrong availability for upgrades last night, it looks correct now (ie different than the Flight Availability results).

Yes, you can click the resubmit button from the View Saved Alerts page if you view Notified alerts that haven't yet gone past their departure date.

I’m actually not sure that the space showing is correct. I’m looking at AA73 for tonight (2/17/22) or tomorrow (2/18/22), which ExpertFlyer shows as having C space right now, but I can’t get that space to show up on AA.com. (The AA website does not show the “Systemwide Upgrade” link next to “Seats” on the search)

Update: As some more data points, I also see this issue on the following flights:

AA 72 (SYD -> LAX) on 2/18 and 2/19
AA 100 (JFK -> LHR) on 2/19, 2/21

It’s not always incorrect. It does correctly show space on the following flights:

AA 106 (JFK -> LHR) on 2/18, 2/19, 2/20, 2/21

I’ve yet to find a datapoint where it shows no availability on a flight that does have availability, so it seems like AA is publishing a superset of actual available inventory in the C bucket, is my guess. That is to say, having space in C in the Award/Upgrade search is necessary, but not sufficient for there to actually be confirmable upgrade space available.

AA.com aside, call an agent to confirm. AA.com can use cached data whereas EF does not. However as long as our Award & Upgrade search can show different C/A values then the Flight Availability search then we are correctly displaying what AA is publishing.

Ah, I see. I was not aware that AA.com cached the SWU results.

I called AA, and although I didn’t go through the full list, they did confirm that they also see upgradeable space on tonight’s AA 73 from LAX to SYD, so hopefully all is correct!

Thanks for the help!
