I doubt Apple cares if the phone is hacked or unlocked. The have to create "software upgrades" to keep ATT happy.

That is a very interesting question. Lawyers anyone? I find it hard to believe it is legal to require a credit card to purchase. "Legal tender for all debts public and private" as it says on the money.

Legal tender can be refused if the debt only arises "substantially contemporaneously with the offer of payment."
You should read:

Legal tender can not be refused for the settlement of debts. So go ahead and pay your water bill in a mixture of pennies, two dollar bills, and a few Susan B Anthony's if you'd like.

Thankfully not a lawyer, but a 2nd year college student.

I believe you have gravely misunderstood what "all debts, public and private" means.

Sorry to bring this thread back from limbo, but I just picked up a 2-pack of the Power Support Crystal Film for my iPhone.
Wow...great product. I had been putting off a screen protector because I was never really happy with the ones I used on my Treo and I was worried about the touch sensitivity with the iPhone. The worries were totally unfounded and I wish I had gotten these from day 1 as I already have acquired a couple small scrathed on the screen (what precipitated this purchase). The price is a little on the high side ($14.95 for 2 films), but I think its a good investment.
Anyhow, just a ^ for these if anyone out there is looking for some screen protection.
