IPhone App Store is UP and ACcessible Through iTunes -- No iPhone Required
If anyone is interested in seeing what the new apps are for the iPhone, you can look at it under iTunes. You don't need an iPhone registered with the system to see the list.

I picked one up I'd pre-ordered at an O2 store here in Dublin.
The store was surprisingly quiet and calm as they'd put a note up stating all stock was reserved for pre-orders and everyone who'd got one had been contacted by phone the previous day.
Apparently at least 3 weeks until new stock comes in.
I got a 16gb white one as the 16gb black ones weren't supplied by Apple.

Appeared they got a small shipment. Took them 38 minutes to activate me. Apple's servers are getting pounded today and lots of delays are happening. I'm home and synced and it's not even noon.

Disappointed
Fairly good experience at a recently opened ATT retail store in Huntington Beach, CA.
5:20a arrival. Number 13 in line. Over 100 at store opening.
Employees took info before opening for smooth transaction. Even offered bottled water. 10 customers taken at a time. Told store had about 100 3G's.
Longer in store experience for me. As a "Blue" legacy ATT customer, I needed to migrate.
Out by 8:30a, with NO activation due to server problems. Told to go home and sync with iTunes. No luck 2 hours later.
Set for a IPhone 3G seminar in the Apple store tomorrow.

were you able to get a deal as a migration? I had a legacy 1200 min 39.99$ plan. they kept me on the 39.99$ (plus 20$ for data of course) and popped my minutes up to 900 a month, and 3K roll-overs. I'm hoping to swing something SIMILAR again with a second NEW 3G iphone, but NOT TODAY!

NICE! Curious the conversation to get that deal. What state are you in?
No luck or offer for me. Had to take the 450 mins. @ $39.99 and add fees for data/text.I had 1100 anytime/N&W free/M2M free/text free for 34.99. I even expressed my thoughts on how I should be rewarded, not punished for being a legacy. She agreed but, said nothing she could do.
ATT has some severe communication problems. Business line says one thing, retail says another, and online chat rep says a third. Monthly fee doubled. Unbelievable.
BTW.. Just got into the server.

I thought I was the only one. I'm on an old blue ATTWS family plan for 400 minutes (three lines) for $80 ugh (no rollover or shared). If I upgrade to 550 minutes the cost is going to drop for me.
I hope you've gotten your phone activated by now, and that things go better for me
(The annoying thing about the migration is that I'm told that I'll need, of course, the three new 3G sims, but when the migration is done, all the current sims will stop working. Which means, I guess, I'll have to overnight mail the new sim for phone #3 to the family member in California. Unless there's another way....?)

5-7 hour wait in Boca Raton, and that was 3PM. The guy said they had plenty in stock, but most of those people had gotten there early in the morning. I've waited this long; I can wait a few more days.
Speaking of long, this has got to be one of the longest FT threads I've seen - then again, I haven't been here long enough.
