But as I said there has never been confirmation of a 3G radio.
The article you link to got its 3G capability info from ARS Technica and that site has revised its original analysis to no longer include any 3G info: http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardw...-review.ars/14

And since the iPhone doesn't have a WCDMA power amplifier, the hopes of enabling 3G with a firmware update (as described in your article) is, well, just a dream.

I was told by an AT&T clerk that the data portion of the iPhone does not work in HKG---doesn't seem right since there is an AT&T brochure that shows what a data plan in HKG costs. Can anyone who has used their iPhone in HKG inform me? Also if you were roaming did u sign up for the International Plan (anything else I should beaware of)? TIA

It will work fine. The clerk was likely confused between HKG, Japan, Korea, and China. I suspect he doesn't know there's a difference.

It sure does work in HK, but the bill will be ridiculous. Just wait until you go online and see it...

Is there any diff between using 3 or CSL or any of the other providers?

16GB model announced this morning for $499. 8gb remains at $399. No other apparent updates/additions/improvements.

Also announced is a 32GB iPod Touch.

Both models are (purportedly) available immediately.

"Available Immediately" allegedly means both US and Europe availability. Should be in stores within days, for anyone choosing that route instead of ordering online.

that would be 8 sparky.

So, double the capacity. Two times as many songs, twice as many movies, the math is simply 2x.

Granted, 8GB of additional FLASH shouldn't cost 100$, but hey, this is america

I was wondering what would come next for me after the iPhone no longer kept my interest. Now I know.

Yeah, that has to be the most sexy Windows Mobile phone ever.

When I read the leaked specs I thought it had to be a fake.

400,000 iPhones in China

See http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-987...=2547-1_3-0-20 for where many of the unregistered IPhones are going. 400K is an awful lot, but knowing China these days I'm really not that surprised.

Apple sells iphone with faulty adaptors and won't replace it

im facing a problem.

The power adaptor that came with the phone has stopped functioning. When i called, the guy was very more intent in verifying that i actually had a valid contract with At&T before entertaining me.

Is there any warranty clause that actually prevents me from getting a replacement for the power adaptor since apple sold me an item which does not work.

In the UK we have the 'sale of goods act' which would I think qualify in this case if anyone UK based had the same problem. The goods purchased should be fit for the purpose for which they are sold - I'd argue that a charger (that was used in accordance with the instructions) would not be fit for the purpose if it broke in under a year.

I'm unsure if there is anything like this in the US though.
