Update your experience
Now that iOS 6 has been around for many weeks, please share your experiences. Put aside the google maps and youtube issues - those aren't important to me.
I did not upgrade my iPad 2, primarily because there was an issue with wifi reception. Has that been fixed yet? I know 6.0.1 just released but that was primarily for iPhone 5. My iPad 2 isn't jailbreaked and no plans to do so.
I'm not trying to rekindle a war here so please just stick with your own personal experience. Thanks!

Interesting thoughts on LONG time Apple user ditching Apple for Android(!) - lots of complaints re: iOS 6 (11/01/12):

I upgraded my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 to 6.0.1 and so far so good. But I don't think this new release does anything for the battery problem. The iPhone 5 still drains way faster than the iPhone 4.
I think Apple should have just come out and said that this is the case. Don't expect the same battery performance because the faster chip and larger screen burn more juice.
As for WiFi, I have more bars now sitting in my bedroom. So if the tweek was to make it look better, job done!

- The "reply by text" option on incoming calls is very useful.
- DND is great for travel in a wildly different timezeone.
- The 'pull down to refresh' movement is now more consistent across built-in applications.
- Context menus are better - particularly with SM integration.
- Some heavier apps seem faster. I use "City Maps 2 Go" a lot when abroad, and it's significantly better under iOS6.
Negatives:
- Sorry, I can't not mention maps. I rely on them a *lot* (on foot/bike) and the new ones simply don't do the job. The workarounds are poor.
- iCloud is being naughty and syncing things I haven't asked it to, eating up my data allowance in no time. And the battery for that matter - I had a few "wow, that went down to 20% in an hour" moments recently that seem to have gone from switching iCloud completely off.
- On my iPad more than my iPhone, I'm seeing several unexpected data slowdowns/cutoffs on wifi, even when I know my home network is working perfectly well from other devices. Only solution is to hard reset the device - having to do it about once every 2 weeks. Not critical, but remarkably tedious.
- Facebook integration is a little *too* transparent. I've found a few occasions where I've ended up thinking I'm sending an MMS to someone only to find it's been sent to the nether regions of their Facebook account. It then gets entered in the Messages list under that person's name, and impossible to distinguish the two. Very annoying.
- Did I mention maps?
- It seems less tolerant will relatively poor wifi connections. Three bars? No problem. Two? No chance.
- MAPS

It's the calendar syncing that's really useful for me. I need to find another 'route' for the data to take. Love having my multiple work, home, Tripit calendars all in one place!
Ah, cool, that now seems to be published here. Will have to do via iTunes, as my iPhone is, er, rather full at the moment...
Have you loaded 6.0.1 yet? It seems to fix the WiFi issues.

Stut and Stimpy: thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I use my iPad at work to take notes, manage my appointments, etc. and therefore rely on iCloud to sync my calendar and notes app to my iPhone and Macbook. That alone is enough reason to keep iOS 5 for now.

Don't get me wrong, sync'ing is critical to me too. But I just do it with a USB cable. It only take 30 seconds or so.

I love that my email, contacts, calendar sync all the time with my phone. And it doesn't use up any battery at all.

But I do find iCloud syn with MacBook and devices very convenient. While the usb sync is easy, the iCloud sync is seamless and almost instantaneous....so if iCloud sucks battery with iOS 6, enough of reason to pass for now.
Thanks again!

Thanks all for the heads-up on 6.0.1, I'm updating now. My biggest problem to date, and it's a significant one, is the issue with Exchange integration and meetings. Our CIO has blasted a message to everyone telling us to simply not do anything with meeting invites from iOS6. I've seen meetings scheduled/cancelled/scheduled/cancelled/etc. due to the this bug.
Last I had read, MS and Apple were pointing at each other - "you're not supposed to call that service that way"; "you should trap the erroneous call and not process it."
6.0.1 says "Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings" - I'm hoping that addresses the problem.
It's still better than my BB at everything, by a wide margin - except email, calendar, and keyboard. But those are big for a business tool.
I'm holding out hope, perhaps beyond reality, that BB10 combines the best of iOS and BB's business orientation.

I'll whine only about the bugs.
Updating to iOS 6 pretty much killed my wife's iPhone 4. The sound on it start working in arbitrary fashion, only ringing, and occasionally making other sounds (i.e. sms, email and etc notifications) - that would work only 10% of the time. The only solution to that (after much shaman dancing) was to do a clean setup - restoring always brought back the same problems. Ended up getting her a 4S, where the restore didn't cause any problems, so I just sold the old 4.
On my 4S, the only issue I'm experiencing is that auto brightness does not work anymore, at least not as intended. I can live with that, by occasionally adjusting the brightness manually.

] and a series of other niggling OS-based issues. Updating to 6.01 seems to have solved the niggling issues - CrApple Maps remains...
