FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

Q: If arriving in TG F and departing in TG C the following day, will I get access to the F lounge?

A: Offically the answer is no as you need a same day ticket, however some people have been granted access in this situation. So very much a YMMV situation.

Q: If arriving in TG F and staying in BKK, is it possible to use the TG F lounge as an arrivals lounge?

A: Unfortunately this is not allowed, although exceptions have been made before. So officially it's not allowed, but there is no harm in asking.

Touch Of Silk Massage (Full body oil massage - 60 minutes for First Class only) – Ler's start your journey with a relaxing Touch of Silk full body oil massage. Delivered with the unique 'Thai touch', this massage will help to prepare your body for your onward flight by increasing blood circulation as well as relieving muscular tension and helping to provide the necessary hydration for your skin. On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.

Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.

Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.

Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.

Spa access rules:

TG F departure = F spa access

*A F departures = No spa access

TG C departures = C spa access

*A C departures = No spa access

TG F arrival connecting to TG C = C spa access, however some people have been offered F spa access in this scenario

No guest are allowed regardless of class of travel

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?

A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.

I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

I like the on-demand food at the FCL.

I would go with the wonton soup to start and the beef (or pork) with sticky rice.

i can recommend only a small snack like club sandwich or some cashew nuts in order not to spoil your capacities for Bangkok Downtown food or the food in F on the plane

The 1 guest policy applies to check-in as well, right? I expect it would, but want to clarify.

I see you can't use the F lounge as an arrivals lounge, but how about if arriving in F and departing in F the next day on one PNR? Could you have a quick meal and then go through immigration, returning the next day?

for check in, there is no official guest policy and it it up to the check in staff, what they accept. In practice if you fly F or J, you can check in at your premium counter together with 1-2 fellow passengers without an issue.
I even apply this if I have guests visiting me in Bangkok flying Y. If i bring them to the Airport, I go to Platinum check in if they fly TG and to J check in, if they fly Lufthansa Group and I show my Platinum, resp. SEN Card and ask whether my guests could check in at the premium counter.

As for your second question, if you pretend to stay in transit, escort will bring you to the FCL where you can have your meal and later tell them that you changed your mind and let them bring you to the normal arrival Immigration (fast track)

As BinSabai says you can do it - but I can't think of any circumstances under which someone would voluntarily do it! The time to go to the lounge, eat, go back out, have to find your bags (which will have been taken off the reclaim)... you'd already be at your hotel and tucked up in bed (or out and about). The lounge is nice enough, but not worth going out of your way for when you will be going anyway the next day.

Thanks for the replies. I'll wait on the lounge until the next day. My companion is flying TG J so it sounds like check-in will most likely be fine.

TG let you access FCL if in transit arriving from TG F and continuing travel on international TG
But not if you continue on another *A carrier
not even me as Platinum member of TG would have FCL access in this situation

Hello. I did a bit of a search in the thread, but did not find a clear answer.

CDG->BKK TG F (arrive 0600)
BKK->HAN TG C (depart 1700)

Booking on Lifemiles is 120K miles, booking on United is 145K miles. Lifemiles would require me booking two tickets whereas United would be one ticket. Would I be allowed FCL access on two separate tickets or am I better off booking one ticket to ensure access. Will TG combine PNRs?

And to clarify, I would not have FCL spa access in this situation, correct?

Many thanks!

Lifemiles could be done as a single ticket if you use the screenshot method... take screenshots of the available CDG-BKK and BKK-HAN flights, and a third screenshot showing no availability CDG-HAN. Send those off to Lifemiles and they'll ticket it as a single award (more details on the Avianca thread here on FT). That would come in at 102000 miles rather than 120, but note they can take 3 or 4 days to make the booking, so there's a risk availability could go. For peace of mind you could ticket as two awards if you wanted.

Separate tickets will still get you access to the FCL. On arrival from CDG you'll be met with a golf cart to take you to immigration. Tell them at that time you have a connecting flight and they'll take you to the FCL instead. Arriving F on TG and connecting to J gets FCL.

No First class spa, but you'll get the 30 mins J class spa.

agree with LHR/MEL/EUROPE FF! FCL access yes if you stay airside for the same day flight in the late afternoon and have luggage checked through.
Spa will be a 30 minutes session (neck/shoulder or foot) and will take place in the F area of the Spa. However do not hesitate to ask for a one hour massage and refer to your F flight CDG BKK; as they are not so busy during late morning and afternoon, they might grant you depending on how you ask…
If you need further info for (for example about check in/lounge at CDG) let us know…
I can't help you about United/Lifemiles….

Would appreciate some information on the following case:

FRA-BKK in LH F
BKK-SYD in TG F

Layover 2:45-5:50 p.m.

Will they pick me up on arrival and guide me to the FCL? How much time will I most likely have between getting there and having to leave for boarding?

Thank you!

LH/LX have their own F ground staff for pick up, drive you with golf cart to either immigration/arrival or transit security
if on separate tickets (and luggage checked through) you would have to tell them to bring you to the FCL; from there TG loungs staff take over (1 hour massage available etc.). Usually I would say that you would need around 20 minutes from arrival to FCL, however in the early afternoon there could be a queue at Transit security; ground staff might jump the queue or not (but officially there is no fast track at transit security. 30-40 minutes before departure, ground staff will escort you to the gate (usually no golf cart, except departure is in E/F or G, but then you have to pass security again). So this will give you 2-2.5 hours in the FCL

Thank you very much for the detailed answer! Time should be enough for a snack, a shower and a massage, excellent.

It is one ticket FRA-BKK-SYD, sold by LH. Most likely hand-luggage only.
