Why not split the site into flyertalk.com for travel-related stuff and spamtalk.com for OMNI stuff?

Because we're all members of the same community.

Post #8760 for me was one in OMNI. That was a weird feeling.

In the name of the wee man. I came across this thread by accident.

I cannot believe it........Why is post count taken so seriously?

For some of the same reasons the airline and hotel "loyalty" program funny money currencies and plastic status levels are taken so seriously?

Too late to comment now. The vote is over. I posted my thoughts before the vote as many others have.

Actually, TB has already approved to reactivated the post count only in Omni & Omni/PR and not in Games Forum. Just a separate the forum.

This motion has been finally implemented as posts in Omni are counting again.

Time to head to OMNI and start post padding. I'll be an evangelist yet!

Shoot, when I started here, I goggled in amazement at anyone with 10k+ posts and wondered how in the world they did it. But in this short time I'm already north of 700, so, wow, earning it honestly might not be too hard.

btw, has anyone considered how this will affect the CC mods' post padding policing? That's an issue near and dear to my heart because I was masked from CC unjustly for "post padding" when my posts were just regular posting patterns (I even put together a posting frequency table to show the mods). I can only imagine how much worse counting OMNI will make it--who's a CC mod to say that 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 isn't a posting run. This passed motion has made that legitimate behavior for FT post count.

OMNI is masked until a poster has 180 posts and has been a FT member for 180 days. So it won't matter.

Good point. I had forgotten that. Probably because I've only ventured into the bowels of OMNI once or twice. :D :D

The OMNI's have been called the bowels of FT on more than one occasion. :)
