I literally just PM'd the Community Director to let her know of the motion passing. I'm sure when she's online next/gets it, she'll notify IB. Can't give exact moment the switch gets flipped, but I'm sure everyone will be able to figure it out when it has been ;)

Cheers.

Thanks for testing the water as of January 2012. Shall we open our diaries and select a date for January 2013 so we can revisit this subject once again?

Sure, you can. You can have post more in Omni again.

It's your diary so you can do whatever you'd like. ;) However, if the FT World doesn't fall apart due to Omni posts counting in the next year I'd probably mark that date with a pencil.

Cheers.

The FT world didn't fall apart when OMNI was not counting, did it? ;):p

Don't worry, I am confident the FT world is perfectly secure. My position on post count has always been one of ambivalence. To me, its all terribly trivial and I prefer to engage with fellow members based on the merit of their contribution rather than their post count.

What worries me, seriously worries me is that TalkBoard is incapable of committing to decisions of its own making. I disagree with the premise this motion overturns a decision taken by Randy several years ago because this motion was worked upon at great length and voted upon by TalkBoard only 6 months ago, thus superseding Randy's earlier decision.

The result of this motion as an isolated vote is inconsequential to me. Sadly however, the ongoing pantomime whilst entertaining to some will cause others to question whether TalkBoard has outlived its purpose. If this votes proves anything, it is TB is telling our community it is no longer relevant. It pains me to say this, but that's the way I see it.

You said it well. This was all an experiment in petty infighting and personal vendettas. It was disheartening to see how many here had personal scores to settle as the discussions went on.

If this vote proves anything, it is telling the FT community it is no longer bound by mistakes in the past. It is willing to listen and act upon new ideas.

I'm very surprised it passed 7-2. I was expecting 5-4 or even 6-3. Shows what I know!
