Comments: Room 706 newly renovated room, according to bellhop. Not sure if this was the 'best available room/standard suite' as according to the layout, there seems to be quite a lot of suites on a floor. But since I was there for 1 night only, didn't bother.
Breakfast at club lounge + 500points were awarded as PLT benefits. Club lounge evening cocktail/canapes were sufficient for a mini-dinner.

Comments: Four day paid stay. Nice hotel, great location, 2 room suite joined by arch, 1.5 bathrooms, door to entrance foyer and half bathroom. Upgraded to suite after asking if suite was available and waiting 2.5 hours for it to be cleaned.

Made a reservation for next weekend while waiting for my suite but as the price was too steep, decided to use 12k points instead. Went to front desk and requested to be upgraded to a specific suite room #, where i always stay at, for next weekend's booking.. Upgraded on the spot with updated confirmation email.

Comments: So far so good! I was offered the St Regis Suite at check-in. While enquiring whether a smoking suite would be available, I was told the St Regis only has one smoking floor left and both suites were occupied. While the St Regis Suite is stunning, I decided to voluntarily downgrade myself to a smoking grande deluxe room, which is also very nice. All outdoor facilities including pool area, excluding car park, are now non-smoking. Singapore is turning into a smoker's hell ...

BRG stay: (no) Rather, I had to use the PLT Guaranteed Room Availability benefit and paid RACK the 3rd night, as well as near RACK the 1st and 2nd nights.

Comments: All of BCN was sold out over the weekend due to the Grand Prix and to a lesser extent the conference I was attending. That, plus I had to string together three reservations, including the aforementioned PLT Guarantee night, which explicitly states ineligibility for an upgrade, meant I had zero expectation of anything more than the room I booked.
Thus, I was pleasantly surprised that my first reservation showed I was pre-upgraded to their best room category the day before arrival. At check-in I mentioned my other two reservations and asked if I could keep the same room or if I would need to move for the PLT Guarantee night. The FDC tapped away at her keyboard and set me up in the same Comfort room all six nights. The upgrade was above and beyond and the extra space was appreciated. Overall nice PLT recognition.

Comments: Booked a day before stay as a last minute decision (wanted to go shopping + get groceries at Trader Joes). Had a nice welcome note in my room, my extra towels (normal request), and 3 extra free bottles of water in the fridge (surprise). Nice location for shopping at the mall, easy access to the highway. The employees I interacted with were all very pleasant!
