My statement has now closed twice, still no bonus points to be seen.

Great, thanks for the help. I just got off the phone with AMEX and asked them to verify my SPG number and they had a different number for me. So I updated them, and they said they were going to match them up and transfer me my points and should see them on SPG.com in the next 48 hours.

My wife got some very unique entries in her account (this is for the personal card - the business card should post in a couple of days):

For those who did not receive 30k bonus at the time of Amex statement closing, check your SPG account online. My wife's bonus points posted to her SPG account 10 days after Amex statement closing date, even though spend poinst posted the next business day.

Wife's card had $1K spend before her statement cycled and she has received the 10K new member bonus plus the 20K spend bonus right after her 1st statement cycle. My account did not reach the $1K spend before my statement cycled but has since reached the 1K spend total and the account has not cycled a second time BUT I have received the 10K new member bonus and the 20K new spend bonus. Go figure.

BTW, the new member and spend bonus points posted yesterday. 6 weeks after being approved for the card.

Not sure what happened in my situation but we received the 30K bonus points 3-4 days "BEFORE" our first statement.

I assume there was $1,079 in spend, plus 30K (20+10) in bonus.

Yes, but why did it come in at 60,000 bonus points and a big subtraction? I haven't seen anyone else report a similar oddity.

It is an oddity. But it doesn't appear that it came in as a 60k bonus from what you posted. It looks as though it came in as a 20k bonus, a 10k bonus, and a 30k spend. And then immediately there was an adjustment to the spend to gross it down to just under $1100.

I think the fact that it came in with the bonus points is making it look weird, but I think it's nothing more than an error on the spend and then an adjustment, which I bet happens from time to time. I agree that it's a little weird that the inital spend error was 30k, which happens to be a big round number equal to the bonus, but ultimately I'm not sure it really tells us much. Given how annoying it can be to straighten stuff out with Amex, it's good they got it right -- though not correcting the error would have been cool!

Okay, heres a datapoint..

I applied my first Personal SPG AMEX under this offer of 30k points. Got 10k points immediately after first purchase, reached 1k spend after 4-5 days. Received addition 10k + 20k (40k total) points after 15-20 days of activating the card.

Good for you. I thought only business accounts have received 40K points, but your example proves that I was wrong.
