The overall experience with Sixt was quite good and the shuttle wait was less than 5 min each way but as others have pointed out, the Sheraton Four Points is right next door so you could take that shuttle if it comes first as well.

Just returned from a 2 week trip and booked LFAR - we were given a Cadillac SRX and were quite pleased - well appointed and super gas mileage as well.

One last question was the airport concession recovery fee 12% added on top of what you were quoted?
Many thanks

I will be in LAX for 5 days on april coming from Vegas with my family, and I'm from Brazil.
I my country the cars are really expensive, I paied the equivalent of almost 50k dollars on a Suzuki Grand Vitara, as an example. At least it is easy to make money here, if you know the ways.
The fact is that I would like to use german cars in LA, that use to cost from 2 to 3 times in Brazil. I will be at the Hiton in LAX, really close to Sixt, and my plan is to pick a different car each day. MBs, BMWs, convertibles ...
Sixt looks like the perfect for that: low rates, great cars. I'm interested in PCAR, LCAR, XCAR, LFAR, XFAR and SSAR. I would prepay all the reservations (4 days I believe), but I would like to be sure about what kind of cars I would get, and know the worse scenarios for each category. FlyersTalk don't have a complete Fleet List like Avis or Hertz. Could anyone from SixtCustomerServices or a frequent flyer make a complete (or even "a close to real") list of LAX Fleet from Sixt?
I heard that PCAR have "no american cars", but sometimes it's all gone and they offer an upgrade to a Cad from LCAR or else. I like Cads, Lincolns, that I drove a lot in USA before, but I would be really disappointing about it for a prepayed rental when my plan to have a Mercedes or a BMW, as it would be the "main event of the trip" for my brothers.

You want to pick up and return 4 different times? Seems like quite a hassle. I would do a search through the threads and you can see what people have found. There is already a Sixt @ LAX Thread too.
Car brands are not guaranteed by the way, but they can try to hold your preference.
Car categories are very similar to those of National. Off the top of my head, I know these.
PCAR- A3, CLA
LCAR- 3 Series, ATS, A4,
XCAR-5 Series, XTS, A6
XFAR - GL 450, Escalade (I believe ML is in here too)
Don't know LFAR but I think its Caddy SRX?

Thanks kxc262!
Are you sure that there are no other models? My concern is to reserve a LCAR and receive a Chrysler 300 for example ... It would be really disappointing for me.
In fact 4 pickups and returns sounds toilsome, but me and my brothers are car enthusiasts, also Sixt will be at 2 minutes from us. Even if it takes 30 minutes every day, it would be OK for me.

I did see a CLA, but I am pretty sure it was from Phoenix one-wayed since it has an AZ plate. Have not seen one with CA plates and that was the only time I've ever seen a CLA. It also looked less comfortable than the S60 (also PCAR) and 2-series (also PCAR)

Ahh. Yea ive sat in them at the dealer and they seem nice. Ive owned to Benzs and thats by far the smallest outside of the sports models (SLS). Still curious to try it as i do think it looks really nice.

I should also note that that list is totally useless. I just checked its listings for MSP and it says they offer (among others): SFAR, FFAR, PCAR, PFAR, LCAR, LFAR, XDAR, XCAR, XFAR, SVAR, PVAR, CTA, STAR, XTAR, and prob a few more i missed. NONE of which they actually carry.
Also keep your eyes open. 15' Corvette showed up in my booking at SJC the other day, but now its gone. Assuming its floating around California.
Also interesting how the 300 is an FCAR, but PCAR with all other rental companies. Saw a few of Mini Coopers in SJC too.

Just noticed that as well -- they must have changed it recently, as the reference car before was the Camry, IIRC. I have seen FCAR Chargers before, so assuming the 300 is a base model and specced similarly.

kxc262 has it right in that most likely you'll get a 3-Series/C-Class/ATS on an LCAR booking. I actually think the ATS has just as good (or sharper) driving dynamics compared to the 3-Series (in typical rental spec, at least).

Seems like there was some controversy because of it being the first FWD Benz being sold here in the US, but despite the peppy engine I didn't feel any torque steer or any other undesirable performance characteristics.
