Hi guys. Renting from LAX in early-November or early-December and saw the CCCC option. Any idea what it usually leads to at LAX? Haven't used Sixt before but I can match to Platinum status from other programs. CCCC is the same price as ICAR, and both slightly more expensive than Hertz (where I can pick from the Five Star section). My expectation is to get something "unusual" from Sixt, so if booking CCCC or ICAR would likely get me a boring car I'd probably go to Hertz instead. Really trying figure out my option here. Thanks in advance!

Renting from LAX with Platinum status from other programs. Don't get upgrade. I reserve PFAR group. Got brand new Mercedes GLC 300 with 5 miles on the clock. I can get also BMW M3. Overall I'm very satisfied. Price for 13 days with LDW and SLI included, add driver, all tax and drop off in Vegas for 592$.

The Escalade is great ! Big enough for a bunch of luggage, BOSE, seat ventilation, tv in the back seat and apple/android CarPlay and a few nice to have features.
So so my advice is. If one wants a newer well speced car pick the Cadillac. The GLSs I saw mustve had a few years on them. Cant say anything about the Volvos since I didnt look at them, but they are pretty nice as standard so you cant really go wrong there either.
Sorry for for taking a while to get back with my rental info...

Hi,
what is the current line-up in the XCAR range (E-class, S90, XTS) - in particular, which models do have built-in sat nav? I am a Sixt Diamond customer, so upgrade quite likely - but would rather go for an e-class with standard built-in sat nav than a GLE w/o sat nav
Thanks
Sascha

Then I had an XTS in june this year which had built in nav as well.
I've never got an e-class but I did get a GLS a few weeks ago, that had nav built in. I never checked the model year of it but it felt like it was 2-3 years old. Of course the GLS, GLE as well, is getting bigger updates for the -19/20 models but I don't think Sixt has got them yet. Not sure about the e-class because that got an update for the 2017 (? I think) models so Sixt might have them.
To be sure of a somewhat newer car I would go for a volvo or a cadillac if i had the choice

In conclusion, the only way I'd go back to this location is for a crazy-cheap rate on a high-end car. They seem to rent a lot of Mercedes, Jags, etc. out of this location, so if you want to drive something fun for a fraction of what Hertz typically charges for their Prestige cars, it might be worth it. But I'd *never* rent a basic midsize/full-size type car here - the act of waiting in the lines kills off any value you get in the form of a slightly lower rate.
I couldn't say no to their BF deals, one of which was the small Mercedes SUV for a family trip in February for $37/day. Especially surprising since Hertz and National were both at $75/day for midsize cars. Sixt's BF deals were good through Spring Break, whereas all of the other rental car BF emails I got were January only.My only question here is about references to Sixt status. It sounds like they've implemented something where Plat members don't have to queue with everyone else. This didn't appear to be true when I was there a year ago, although it's possible that there simply weren't any Plats there and if there were, they'd know where to go to get service. And then the obvious follow-up: does Sixt ever match other agency statuses?
I don't care about upgrades, but anything I could do in advance that would minimize the risk of standing in a queue would be appreciated.

I got a GLS , after asking somewhat nicely to get just that one. They had maybe five XC90s and a few Escalades. Unfortunately the GLS had bad breaks so went to get that changed but then the XC90s where gone but they had one Escalade left which I took because I didnt nt want to drive with bad breaks.

Anyway, that's the same fleet.
In that category XFAR, I requested anything but a XC90, and got a GLS that would have been my first choice. I am used to that great ride.
23 days rental for $1100.
Car looked nice, with 11000 miles on the clock. Drove off to Palm Springs, and realized that the aircon was smelly each time it got started. And the tag on the license plate were right passed the date; after a week, it got worse, and the cooling power was going down. Upon return to LA, the built-on GPS was going crazy. We called back to Sixt-Sepulveda, and asked for a new car. They tried to get me going in whatever Cadillac sedan they had on hand. As I declined, they said a XC90 was coming from LAX, and could I come back in a couple hours. Sure. The XC90, was brand new, couple thousand miles on the clock, fully loaded. Drove off in that, only torealize that although quite a big car, it feels like a golf cart, after the GLS. And I do not mean swift, I mean light and flimsy. Besides an erratic aircon, switching on siddenly to full heat blast, a somewhat difficult system to handle -and a missing rear wiper, which I did not realize was not on the rental form, and they did not realize upon return. SO much for careful service.
Definitely a let down, and beyond comprehension that both cars, along with the Escalade, should be in the same XFAR category.
This seems to be corrected. I already booked for next time. Now XFAR is XC90 + GLE or similar , and they brought in a new category XFAZ with Escalade + GLS for 10-15% more money.
And about the 'similar' concept, I can't think of anyone thinking of a Merc being similar to a Volvo.

Has anyone ever seen a VW Beetle Convertible in stock here? Asking because I do NOT want one, but that is the cheapest convertible rate and when they don't have one, they'll upgrade. I used to book the Buick Cascara convertible (which I don't think they've ever had) and would wind up with a BMW 4 series convertible....

Volvo XC90 in LAX
Hi,
does anyone know which trim line the XC90s are (just basic momentum trim or something better)? And are they AWD or just FWD?
Thanks!
Sascha
