I am totally new to SIXT, and since there does not appear to be a catch-all FAQ thread in this forum, and since I am renting in the LA area, hopefully someone can answer my questions.
1. I am an Exec Elite with National and rent pretty much 45 weeks a year and usually have a Ford Fusion Hybrid. SIXT is offering some amazing rental rates that are 1/4-1/3 of what National is still charging even with most of their fleet parked, so since I am already half-way to requalify with National, there is no harm is switching to SIXT for the spring/summer especially as I can get a nicer car for a fraction of the cost. Does SIXT status match? Their program seems to be based on the number of rentals not the number of days, so taking out one rental for 30 days doesn't seem like a good way to earn status
2. Does SIXT in the LA area offer electric or hybrid cars? I don't see any showing up in the reservation website, but maybe they are around as upgrades?
3. I need to drop off my National rental at LAX - but I will not rent from SIXT at LAX for a month because of the airport taxes unless this location will waive taxes and concession fees for local renters - is there a strategy to pick up a car at LAX and stop by the Beverly Hills or West Hollywood location to get the contract re-written? I would rather not drop at LAX or BUR and then take the bus/train for 2hrs to get to the SIXT location in BH.
4. What types of cars are usually available in the Mercedes CLS category? I don't want anything too big, no SUVs, but if I am going to do this, I would rather have something somewhat nice - the consensus here seems to be the Beverly Hills location has the best selection of nicer cars and good customer service?

I can't answer 2/3. Personally, I have never seen Teslas in the fleet at SJC.
I don't think US Sixt has Merc CLS. They used to categorize PCAR, LCAR, XCAR from lower tier to higher tier. LCAR used to be 3-series, S60, and and the CTS. I am not sure if the MKZ/CLA is now in a class on its own. XCAR would be 5-series, S90, XTS, and E-class.
SIXT does have regional geographical restrictions. CA rentals can't travel outside CA, NV, AZ, UT, OR, and WA. Autoslash has more information.

Thank you - I spoke to the Beverly Hills and Santa Monica locations, they only have SUVs and no Mercedes/BMW which creates a pickle for my plan. I can start at LAX and have a better chance of getting something that I want, but then I am stuck with an $80 cost for that first day getting from LAX to an in-city location where they will re-write my rental without the taxes.
So, my last question is if I rent in the category that I want from the in-city location, accept a car I don't want, can I go to LAX and swap it out for something else, or does Sixt not work that way?

Here is an update regarding my experience today in case it can help others.
1. LAX cannot open rentals for local walk-ins without the airport tax/fees
2. Very nice selection of cars - I ended up with an almost new Mercedes CLA, although somewhat stripped down in the features department
3. the manager was really nice, walked me around different cars, and then held that car for me while I returned my National rental, and then went up to the Venice location to open a new contract to avoid the airport taxes
4. everything was well coordinated - I picked up a minivan at Venice they wanted to get rid of, I brought it back to LAX and they put me into the Mercedes, re-printed my contract and off I went
I don't know why Sixt cut their daily rates so low in comparison with other rental car companies, especially for premium/specialty cars, but as long as they keep these rates, I am sold on Sixt.

I asked about upgrades for a week. $35 for MINI Convertible, $65 for Jeep Wrangler and $100 for Audi A5 convertible.
Below is a list of cars I saw on the lot.

Rented @ their Beverly Hills location just after Thanksgiving - 10/10. Great customer service, I was offered a free upgrade (from a BMW X5/similar to Escalade/similar) but declined as I didn't need a 7-seater.
I was then offered a Volvo XC90 and asked if there was anything else available - and was given a 2021 Audi Q7.

Cost of rentals these days
Hi people!
The cost of renting a car have gone up during the pandemic I can tell.
But 9000 dollars for a Suburban,2 weeks, or 8000 dollars for a Pacifica, also 2 weeks, seems a bit steep. Both quotes from LAX in early july.
Is that the going rates these days?

what can I expect?
Hi everyone. I made a reservation during christmas, one way rental, in a XCAR rate. I am currently a SM Plat, what can I expect? Maybe better condition in same category? Or maybe to XFAR?
For the trim, it seems like it is pretty much the basic trim, but due to semi-conductor crisis, is there any changes nowadays?
Also, my flight has been rescheduled by 3 hours already, the original time set for pick up is now off by a lot. Would that be an issue? I have added flight # to reservation, so maybe not an issue?
Thanks for every replies!

I have never once gotten a car upgrade as a Platinum, except when at the last second it is discovered they gave away the last one of the type I booked. One time this took me all the way to a BMW 840i because it was the only car with room for a car seat left lol. That said, since I have been Platinum we have been in the time when everything seems to be fully rented out.
