Can someone please advise on the following I'm currently 1/24 with a cpc and private bank relation looking to apply for CS(R) for obvious 100k and additionally palladium before they stop applications on the 19th in hopes post closing the app spigot they will improve benefits. I'm not to say with credit app process and am wondering what the odds are of applying for both within a 1 week time frame and them coming back with approvals are. I'm currently at an 840 score as of last week as a data point and my single chase card is a csp with a limit that is <1% of my stated income. Any help is appreciated and yes I have reached out to my private bank contact but have yet to hear back. Thanks!
The 100k CSR bonus will last at least a little while, it won't disappear immediately. My suggestion would be apply for the Palladium now, then wait a month before applying for the CSR. We should at least get some notice before the 100k bonus disappears.

Another good way, at least for checking 5/24, is the Experian mobile app. It's free, and has a good view or recently opened accounts. Dashboard -> Open Accounts -> tap the eye in the bottom right corner, choose Date Opened (new to old)
It lists your recently opened accounts in order, so just scroll down a bit to see how many in the last two years. Note it doesn't include business cards, but those don't count towards 5/24 unless they were issued by Chase.

Also, I presume it's getting Date Opened from the credit report too? So Amex cards that were opened before March 2015 which have backdated "opened on" dates on your credit report will similarly show backdated on the app?
Just checking, because are the two other common ways that cards opened can deviate from cards seen by Chase on your credit report.
Thanks.

Does it get all that from your Experian credit report? Ie, if a card you were just approved for hasn't shown up on your credit report yet, I presume the app won't show it either? (If the app showed cards that haven't shown up on your credit report yet, it could overestimate your 5/24 risk.)

The "opened on" date for all my Amex cards except my most recent (8/2015) show they were opened on 2001. When does Chase see Amex cards from 2014? Does the backdating help (they don't count towards 5/24?) or hurt?

I assume they don't show in the app until they're on the credit report, but can't confirm that.

A friend just immigrated to US and started his credit history. He wants to apply for the IHG card, but credit is very new, has a good credit score, no negative marks, but age of account history is only 6 months old. He is an AU on family member's account. How much of a credit history does chase require before issuing credit.

I was in a similar situation a few year's back and got my first chase card (an amazon card, I was crazy with the $30 gift card they offered! LOL) with around 1 year of credit history.

I'm 6/24 right now. I'll be 5/24 in mid-October, and 4/24 in mid-December. Presumably excellent credit, but I haven't checked. The biggest ding against me is my low income, but I've learned to be "creative" in how I calculate that.
I want to get the CSR, and I'm thinking the best strategy would be to apply immediately in the hope that 5/24 doesn't apply right away. If not, I can try again in November. The safest thing to do would be to wait until January, but then I'd lose on the chance to double-dip on the $300 airfare credit.
Any comments or observations about flaws in this plan would be appreciated. Thanks!

(Following the advice of another FT'er I went for an AMEX everyday instead, and will continue building history from there.)

Discussion of annual fee refund policy has no apparent connection to applying for cards, and has been moved:

Sorry another noob question. My account has a hard pull from mortgage company; Also 2 new account from 1st and 2nd Mortgage. Plus a new car loan. Does the hard pull from mortgage company and car (nissan finance) count for the 5/24? How about for new open accounts for car and mortgage? Thanks for your patience.

What Chase seems to care about for the 5/24 rules is only new CCs listed on your credit report, not hard pulls or non-CC accounts.

It scours you credit report for credit cards with an "opened on" date in the past 24 months. (To that it adds any Chase cards opened in the last 24 months which do not show up on your credit report, such as Chase business cards.)
Pulls don't count at all. Non-credit-card loans (such as mortgages or car loans. (Though technically charge cards are not quite the same as credit card, I presume it counts those too if they appear on your credit report. Not all do.)
5/24 is not there to determine your credit worthiness. 5/24 is there to weed out credit card churners (who apply for many credit cards mostly just for the signup bonuses).
