If you have time, I'd highly recommend the Polaris Lounge!

I appreciate the suggestion, I'll give it some thought. It's such a PITA to deal with C & D transit (the terminal is so depressing compared to A & B) but absolutely doable. I didn't think I'd have access. I do wish SAS did a better job of clarification of access to lounges but it's pretty typical of SAS.

It is standard for all airlines that they only mention the lounge they have an agreement with, and certainly never a lounge in another terminal. In Heathrow T3 JAL will dutifully inform me to go the the British Airways Galleries First Lounge. Anyone in the know will head to Cathay Pacific or Qantas instead of BA though. The same on so many other airlines, in so many airports.

I'd absolutely love to see this claimed standard but also am not minded to go ten rounds with you. It's certainly not been my experience with other airlines.

Note that it's not really about SAS letting me know either way (I would never expect them to, just like I never expected SJ to let me know they're not running my train from Kastrup tomorrow, because that would be proactive customer service) I wouldn't have expected access to United's most premium lounge. AC isn't letting other people into its Signature Suites.

Hi, have an upcoming trip from CPH-LAX, booked PE, min. bid was 720€ or 29k EB points, I bid 35k EBP, now the min. bid lowered to 450€/22k EBP, would you rather withdraw the previous offer because now the 35k bid is "stronger" (higher above the min bid than before) or keep it because first come first served when they clear the bids?
+ are cash bids cleared first or are they equal to point bids?
thanks!

I have two minimum bids for Economy to Plus on GOT-EWR and EWR-CPH for next week (13k points each). If the first one fails, is there a chance that minimum bid for business drops below 33k? Or is that the lowest it can be?

Booked last minute CPH-LAX one way in PE for tomorrow. Min bid from PE to Business is 270EUR and I currently show 6 J seats available for sale.

As this is my first time flying SAS, any tips on the bid amount?

hello,

from what I have gathered is the bids going from USA to Europe have a higher demand for business than coming back. You have less competition but I would definitely recommend going over the minimum. If you look through the thread you will see what others have won bids with. If it were me. I’d go at least 400 but no one really knows. Good luck. If they don’t accept your bid ask at the airport if there are any available and the cost. Some people have been rejected and then been able to do it at the airport.

I wonder how SAS views a last minute expensive Plus ticket versus someone who bought a deep discount Go or even Plus months ago. Will they definitely take the cheap ticket bidder if the amount is higher?

Unless you have status with SAS and considering that bids from SAS Gold members are increased by 20%, I would probably be bidding around 25% above the minimum price, i.e. EUR 330-350.

Thank you all for the advice :)

Upgrade was successful. I initially placed a bid of 351EUR each, but bumped it to 401EUR a couple hours before the upgrade system closed. This will now be a much more enjoyable 11hr flight :D

My minimum points upgrade on GOT-EWR went through. 13k points for plus from a youth economy ticket.

JMF1959 Aug 4, 2023 1:54 pm

July 23, EWR-CPH from Plus to Business, bid $350 (upper end of weak), declined for 2 travelers.
August 2, CPH-EWR from Plus to Business, bid $370 (lower end of medium), accepted for 2 travelers.
Notifications on both about 6 hours before departure.

Could you please clarify this. Are you saying that an SK Gold member can bid, say $350, and it will be seen by the bidding system as 20% higher, i.e. $420 when comparing to the bids of non-status bidders? That's a useful bit of information, if accurate. What about higher status elites - are these boosted by a greater percentage?
