I would like to seriously thank the people who pointed out that you can get 1-2 surveys a day on the app. I have now gotten a nice shiny 40K in IHG points courtesy of e-Rewards this year, all of them elite-qualifying. I am amused that there's a perfectly legit elite hack like that and hope they keep it for 2016 because it would be even funnier if I could largely manage to pull off Spire via surveys.

e-Rewards, Platinum elite, y'all! :)

It used to be even easier to earn top tier, platinum status, I believe all points earned counted towards elite status. I'm glad they tightened things up, though I too love the elite qualifying aspect of Erewards>Ihg... I'm hoping to hit Spire this year !

beachmouse Oct 6, 2015 11:12 am

I did not get serious about the e-Rewards app until maybe late May, so missed out on the chance to really go for it this year. The program's been stable enough I feel okay with stockpiling the last quarter of 2015 and then hopefully doing a status dump on January 1 for the first 8-16K for next year's qualifying, provided things stay EQ.

If they lose the EQ, I might end up moving over to Accor for my redemptions since I think I could make that program work well for a European vacation.

The question is "Why should [IHG Points] be called "Priority Club Points" like it was previously?" Because 1) it sounds better, 2) it was a proven brand, 3) IHG (to me anyway) only relates to the Intercontinental Hotel chain inside the IC Group of hotel brands (even though now it doesn't), 4) IHG Points = devaluation; Priority Club Points = re-evaluation.

That's why moi is an Ambassador, and not really any of that IHG stuff any more.

But again, I liked the 3 days for the e-rewards transfer! :)

If you happen to have two accounts with E-Rewards, do not send any questions or complaints... I did and they erased my other account completely, stating (rightfully) their T&C...

Use different email accounts for each account.

mirror74 Oct 10, 2015 6:20 am

Done that, but I guess they found same first and surnames at both account... E-mails were different

Use different names too. When it comes time to redeem, it doesn't matter where you request the points/miles to go.

You're saying it doesn't matter if the names match? I was always under the impression it had to be the same name as the FF program you were sending it to. I know for a fact the addresses don't matter as mine are all screwy

neuromancer Oct 14, 2015 12:43 pm

Names have to match, at least for most of the redemptions. But you can change to a false name in between redemptions.

I got an invitation from SW to participate in e-rewards, and I'd be rewarded with 500 points after my first survey. I must have tried 8 surveys so far, and after spending up to 10 minutes per survey answering questions I was told each time that I didn't qualify for some reason. What a huge waste of time. I feel like SW/e-rewards scammed me out of hours of answering questions. I hate feeling used like this and am ticked I didn't search for other people's experiences with this bait and switch survey company.

Your experience is vastly different than mine.

First, it should not take more than a few minutes to get dq'd from any survey. Even if you do, you get partial credit. Hours? I find that hard to believe.

Next, every survey has a different target audience. Eventually you will get one, and get your 500 bonus miles.

I am regularly getting a few thousand AA miles and a few thousand IHG points every single month through this, even though I get dq'd from a little less than half the surveys I try to take.

neuromancer Nov 12, 2015 1:46 pm

IME, even if you don't qualify, you have taken the survey and you will be awarded your 500 bonus miles. You should go to the reward central and there should be free 500 miles to redeem (unless SW works differently to others)

I've had some of those and usually when I inform customer service with full details of the survey, they check into it and give me full credit. Some of the survey providers try to cheat e-rewards and us when they ask 10 mins of questions and then say we don't qualify. (Or, worst case, don't even provide a link back to e-rewards, so we get nothing!) Those are obvious cases of harvesting data and trying not to pay for it and it's no doubt best if you can give them specific data about the cheats so that they can deal with them.

Most of the time, surveys either reject you within 5 or 6 questions, which is pretty good value for 25-50c, or run to completion and pay the full amount.

So I have a big question to ask everyone, I have about $400 e-reward dollars. What would be the best offer that I should redeem my dollars for? I want to redeem it towards hotels or airfare or car rental. But I wanna get the most out of the points that I transfer to. What do you guys transfer your rewards to?

IMHO, it will be hard for anyone to answer other than you should transfer to whatever you need/want most at the time.

But, FYI, I use my eRewards for Hilton, Hertz, and whichever airline account I want to top off. To me there's no big difference in value in redeeming for one vs the other/s. I just redeem for whatever I need/want most at the time.

beachmouse Nov 19, 2015 12:46 pm

The best hotel deals are probably IHG or Accor depending on your stay patterns because you can redeem an unlimited number of times a year and they've posted as elite-qualifying points. You'd get 16K IHG points and gold status for $400 e-Rewards or 6625 Accor points (value a little more than 120 euros) and silver status in that program.

If you can play the Avios game in a way that wasn't whacked too much by the recent devaluations, Iberia Avios are pretty good and aren't geography-locked like the Avios Avios option are. For US travel, Southwest is pretty decent. I don't know enough about Jet Blue to say if that one is a good value.

I wish they would offer Avios for the US, they only offer American airlines aadvantage miles. Which I am a member of, but I don't like the fact that I can only redeem every 30 days.

beachmouse Nov 20, 2015 6:43 pm

If you got into e-Rewards via a non-airline program, the BA Avios should show up as an additional redemption option (I got in via Delta, and got all the USA options when Delta ended participation) .

But if you've got a way of merging your Avios accounts and are a heavy survey person, you can get 3000 Iberia Avios every 30 days (largest redemption option there) compared to only 1000 BA Avios per 30 days.

Or fi you're really clipping along with the surveys and have all the USA redemption options, you could do one of each and get 4K Avios a month.

You're lucky! I can only redeem for a given program every 90 days! At least 2 of my airlines are options. Worse for my wife...she's only got one meaningful redemption, and so she can't get all her miles out.

You're brave! I don't usually hold onto many more miles than necessary for my next redemption, ever since an early miles-earning program went bankrupt and took my miles with it. Account holders are just another kind of creditor, and all those debts were wiped out in bankruptcy. :td:

I guess these days the programs are less generous and more financially stable, though...only wish you the best and many more years of earnings of course. But I keep 'em moving out to their final destination.

I an holding out for the first of the year for IHG because e-Rewards does seem stable and I've already made what status I could for 2015, so might as well have the next batch of elite points, if it's still st up that way, credit for qualification for the following calendar year. It's really the only rewards program I let a balance build up because of that timing issue.

If you're holding for 2016 status I would probably transfer those to IHG points on Jan 1. A few posts around these parts seem to indicate IHG is cracking down on non-stay elite qualifying points.

I'm planning as much since I've never really felt like there was a guarantee the e-Rewards elite loophole would last and have been pleasantly surprised it's worked this long.

If you were invited by aa, then yes aa will be the only airline available. As such, you should be able to see all hotel partners right now.

Had you been invited by IHG, you would see IHG as the only hotel partner, but see all the partner airlines affiliated with the program, including BA and Iberia

Has there been a complete lack of surveys in the last couple of weeks, or is it just me?

No issues here. Maybe click thru old emails or use the erewards app.

linsj Dec 9, 2015 6:14 pm

I've been getting 2-3 a day, mostly for business.

mirror74 Dec 9, 2015 8:14 pm

I noticed that after (bigger) redeem number of surveys drops quite a lot... maybe this is the reason.

goldencondor Dec 11, 2015 11:13 am

E-Rewards very quiet for me too this week.

DrRodneyMcKay Dec 12, 2015 3:49 pm

Really? I've been getting survey after survey notification, which actually rather sucks, as right now is a particularly busy time when I just don't have time to sit down and fill them all, and they won't be there in a week.

I also have a question, and apologies if it may have been answered somewhere in the first 100 pages, but do any of you have multiple e-rewards accounts with various e-mail addresses? (I know it's technically against the rules, but IHG offered a sign-up bonus so...) Do you still redeem for points in the same program using both accounts, or do you divide it up so that each account is only for certain hotel programs? Have you run into any problems?

Yup. Maintenance message.

Hairbus380 Dec 13, 2015 6:11 pm

It was offline for about ten hours.

I filled out a survey worth $15.00 and when I submitted it, the website was down and I did not get credit.

I emailed customer service.

Anyone still having E-Reward technical issues?

beachmouse Dec 14, 2015 1:09 pm

Off and on. Plus, the latest software update has partially broken the mobile app on my iPad 2.

Anyone getting a ton of surveys from Fidelity lately? I've gotten $20 worth of surveys in the last 2 weeks, much overlap in questions, possible advertising pitches, etc. None asked if I'd recently completed surveys in financial services and I answered them all honestly- but they've gotten my opinion 4 times!

goldencondor Dec 16, 2015 2:56 am

I'm starting to get surveys through again.
