Just got an email from E-rewards. I had initially signed us through US Airways. Now they are telling me that since US Airways will be merging into the AA program, that effective next week my EXCLUSIVE airline reward will be AA and no other airline rewards will be available. I am not happy because I have been using these rewards to top off other accounts. I told them I was not happy, and will wait to see how they respond.

I was wondering how e-miles was going to do it. I was hoping that e-miles opened up to ALL redemptions, and not just AA...

I signed up with Northwest and I remember being given no choice of switching at the merger; was automatically given only Delta as the only airline option. Only became a program free agent when Delta dropped out and they didn't require us to pick another single airline at that point.
As long as IHG posts as elite qualifying, I'll probably stick with them anyways. |

Has anyone ever successfully done a survey while you are travelling overseas (outside US) ?
Last month I went to Hong Kong to see families, then a personal trip to Singapore, all the surveys I tried to open when I was in those cities said it is either expired or reach capacity. Is it they have some tracking device and recognize my computer wasn't in used in the US to complete the survey ? I was quite upset that I missed several of those about smoking and cigarettes surveys, which I know I would be able to finish those surveys and get full credit, as not many cigarette smokers nowadays. |
I have no idea how I initially applied; been too long ago. I have not seen that email so maybe I will be able to keep all my options. I too use it for topping off and keeping accounts alive -- although I did give up my Frontier account after they became a LCC and stopped flying the one route I took annually. Guess I will top off a few accounts earlier than normal just in case.

I don't why they don't just say, "You can't do surveys when you're out of the country" or some such. Instead they say "expired" + BS.

They do track by IP location. There's discussion upthread somewhere about which services do an do not work if you want it to look like you're still in the States for eRewards purposes.

Thanks. It's been a while. I wonder what they'll do with my next emiles redemption. I'm at 495 miles. That ought to be quite soon.

I just checked. I'm now locked into Hilton with emiles which is fine. It was probably my choice and I just don't remember having to make it.
1) E-Rewards 2) E-Miles 3) MyPoints 4) My Coke Points. I happily dropped E-Miles and MyPoints. Soon MyCoke Points will bite the dust. E-Rewards, I'm staying with. |

BamaVol, those who are invited by an airline can normally redeem for all non-airline points but miles only of that airline, while those invited by a hotel co. are shut out of other hotels' points. I guess that we USAirways joiners just got lucky the past few years! I have $19.xx of e-r, so I intend to hit $25, grab 500 AA, then quit! |
+1 on both, Bobunf!

It bugs me the way they say, "Your Rapid Rewards account will be credited with 1,000 Rapid Rewards Points within 4-6 weeks." It should take 4 to 6 seconds, and usually actually takes less than 6 days. Why the inaccurate, misleading and off-putting email?
Not a good sales tool.

I just got an e-miles offer, 100 e-miles for signing up for ERewards. I signed up, and, The primary redemption is to e-miles... Which is weird. I think this is new

Her bigger problem with e-rewards is their limitation of redemptions. She's usually ready to redeem in about 2.5 months and e-miles redemptions, like (all?) the others, are limited to once every 3 months. So takes a couple weeks off, not wanting to pile up rewards she can't use - their loss. FTF |
^^ some redemptions are once every quarter, but also, most airline redemptions are once every month.
Also, if you're mostly interested in airline miles, I would suggest signing up for E-rewards through a hotel, like Hilton. And then you'll have Hilton + about 10 different airlines. |
VERY disappointed. IMHO the program has been gutted. Gone is my favorite xfer partner--SWA. Sad.

Is anyone able to redeem for a Starbucks or Best Buy gift card anymore? The logos are still listed under "Rewards" but I get this message when I click on it.
"Thank you for your interest in this Reward. Unfortunately, there are no Best Buy offers available at this time." |
System seems like it will let me redeem for Best Buy. I've also got Starbucks listed as available rewards, but not enough e-Reward dollars to see if it looks like a redemption will work.

Actually, they got bought. The merger was just part of the transaction.

More info here: http://www.researchnow.com/en-US/Pre...-complete.aspx "permission-based access to millions of deeply profiled consumers" I know I would qualify as one of those "deeply profiled consumer" - ahh! |
I found reading the Research Now website to be deeply educational. For example, I had not realized that since 2010, e-Rewards and e-miles have been co-owned.
