Sorry to piggyback on this thread with a newbie question...
Do you have to book your Y ticket direct from QR to then upgrade using QCredits? I'm thinking of booking with a US OTA offering 24 hour cancellation, so I can get a full refund if the upgrade doesn't go through...
TIA

Your booking channel wouldn't matter when using your Qcredits.
You could still use Qcredits on bookings made on 3rd party channels, however, the online tool might not work in this case and you might need to call in to redeem your Qcredits.

How long does it usually take for QCredits to be refunded? I cancelled a ticket (which had been upgraded) over the phone on 19 Dec, and my account still show nothing.

If I upgrade from economy to first on a ME route out of DOHA to AUH, where do i check in? Am I allowed to check in at the first class check in or do I have to check in at the economy counters?

They don't automatically get recredited. Once the cash portion of the ticket has been refunded, raise a ticket with the Privilege Club team, who will then process the refund of the Qcredits/Qmiles, provided they haven't passed the expiry date.

Just out of interest, is it possible to cancel the Qcredits upgrade without cancelling the ticket? I assume the RBD of the underlying Y ticket needs to be available, but not sure whether they do this as a matter of procedure.

Immense frustration attempting to upgrade a ticket using Q credits (but of course!).
I get right through the online process to OTP being sent & then get an error "..technical difficulties.." then try the "upgrade form" that I am redirected to..error 404...doesn't exist.."...anyone found a work around?
I tried two different browsers - no go. Sigh. Once I use these (very old now) Q credits I am so done with Privilege Club

After messaging them QR called me & told me that I didn't have enough Q Credits (wrong!) to upgrade & indeed insisted I could only upgrade 1 sector of my 2 sector booking because of this & thats why I was getting the error messages (wrong!).
Having provided screen shots of the error page in my message to them I also told the agent that I had a screenshot showing that I did in fact have the correct number of Q credits (I did).
After a 15 minute hold the agent said that because I had proof of my claims regarding the error messages & the number of Q credits required that they were prepared to upgrade my booking over the phone. They did this & reissued the ticket within 5 minutes! Forget trying to resolve the underlying technical issues. Sigh.
What a sh@@-show. Don't get me wrong, I rate the airline, but Privilege Club & its online functionality is history for me because everything is just so damned difficult to achieve.

Tried upgrading a segment I have booked for later on in the year and was having the same issues with the page where I kept getting a 404 error. I was told on the phone by the CSR that because I had a Cash + avios booking that I would not be eligible for an upgrade to first. Can anyone confirm if this is indeed the case?

Update: Had called QR again and was now told by the representative that there was no award space available for upgrade on first. This directly contradicted what the first rep had said but upon trying again this morning I was able to confirm my upgrade from business to first using QCredits. As much as I love both the hard and soft product in the air, it is completely the opposite for their website troubleshooting and customer service.
when that happens, hang up and call them again to speak to a different agent. had this happen to me plenty of times. I love QR, but I hate this game of trial-and-error with their CS department.

Hey all,
Sorry to revive an old thread, but with the 380 continuing to fly to BKK, the use of qcredits have become a bit more relevant to me. So I was able to upgrade one segment already from J to F (after quite the toil) but currently no availability exists on the other 380 segment I have booked even though every F seat is empty according to EF. So if on the day of travel, there are empty seats, how easy would it be to use qcredits to upgrade day of, either at my original check in location or even at DOH right before the flight? Has anybody recently pulled off a scenario like this? Thanks!

But in January I upgraded one time at checkin in BKK and one time in the lounge in DOH. Upgrade on departure is only available at the dedicated departure airport of the respective flight.
Next week I would like to do that as well, but unfortunately for me, the A380 is full in ALL classes ...
