Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Thank you all! Great picture!
And any noise from the engine or the lav/galley behind your head or in front of the seat?

Can someone who flew in 1K on the 77W comment on the lav/galley noise?

My wife and I are booked ORD<>DOH, and we currently have the E/F seat combo booked for the double bed each direction. Does anyone have thoughts on whether this is really a better seat than some of the others? We both enjoy a good window view, like in rows 10 or 8, but would be willing to sacrifice that if the double bed is really a great benefit. What are the overall thoughts on it? These will be the longest flights we have ever been on, so I think a window view would be nice, but so would the extra room of the bed.

I've flown in EF seats with my spouse, but it was a day flight (LHR-DOH) so we didn't use the bed. However, my advice is to consider which you value more: the window view or being together as a couple. I enjoy window views, although mostly you only see things during the first and last 30-40 minutes of a flight, as there usually isn't much that can be seen at 30-35 thousand feet. With the EF center seats you can close the doors and the two of you are enclosed together, can talk during the flight, try each other's food, etc. Some couples love this on a long flight, while others find it too much.
In trying to make a decision I endlessly scrutinised the available photos and videos - and was suddenly taken aback at how close the IFE screens are to each other in the EF seats. It seems to me that it would be hideously distracting to have ones neighbours massive screen so close to ones field of vision. My partner and I do very well on the middle seats of the 787 and 350 where the screens are angled away from each other. So I think well forego the novelty of the double bed configuration in favour of more control over our individual spaces.

You make very good points.

As you mention the other screen is quite distracting at first. Then after 20 minutes I don't "see" it anymore. But you can always get the divider up if that really bothers you.

I didn't find it too distracting, although I was more aware of my partner's screens than I am in, say, the center seats on a CX or AA flight in J. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. But you can also opt for the DG seats, where the two of you are together in an enclosed suite but further away from each other. Or go for window seats, where you each are in an individual suite.

You're joking, right? If you're serious, then perhaps the better question might be what equipment is QR likely to be flying on the CDG route a year from now....

hello,
I'm trying to book DOH-BKK on 17 October.
Expertflyer shows Qsuite but Seatguru show old configuration ( I dont know about the official website it's not clear )
Dont wanna get screwed, better fly A380 if it's an old configuration
what's your opinion? Qsuite or not?
