Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?
Details and changes can be found in the various recent threads.

As to other routes NO ONE KNOWS!

I repeat NO ONE KNOWS!! so do not ask!

I'm seeing 777's come back to ATL, which has been A350 (non-Qsuite) for a while. Any word on whether the 777's coming back to the US on routes such as this will be Qsuite?

Edited to add: Did a dummy booking. Looks like the 77W on the ATL route later this year will be the old 2-2-2 seats. Still decent seats. But would rather Qsuites. Want to share a double bed with the spousal unit.

No need to make dummy bookings. Just check ExpertFlyer.
QSuites returned to my booking yesterday.

1. How many current frames are in for retrofit of the new Q-Suites?

2. What is the Current Rate of Retrofitting (How many at a time and how long does each take)?

Thanks!

So I saw Singapore was an all-Quite route and then it dropped off QR947 (after I had booked!). I've no flexibility on travel that day and the research I did suggests this should have gone back to Qsuites but still showing A550-900. Is it just unpredictable pot luck or a bit more logic at play that I've missed that might give me hope!?

EDIT: I missed the post above. This goes back to all Qsuites 16 July. I fly 15 July!

I see the decision to adopt an unachievable turnaround time on 944/947 has resulted in delays of average 1-1.5hr for the past five rotations

AA flies 77W DFW-HKG. LAX-DOH is longer:
LAX-DOH 8,306mi
DFW-HKG 8,578mi
or
LAX-DOH 7,217nm
DFW-HKG 7,454nm
Depending on whom you ask, the 773 has a maximum range of 7,930nm, and the 77W 8,700nm.

It's only since mid-January that LAX has been pretty consistently Qsuite, but I'm surprised your flight was switched, as I thought I read upthread that most of the 777s have been fitted with Qsuite now. If flying alone, the 2-2-2 is not my favorite simply because I'm always next to a stranger. If flying with a friend, the 2-2-2 is nice, and while I prefer the Qsuite, some people prefer the 2-2-2 because it's roomier and looks more open.

Yes, this is a huge advantage of the 777 over the A350s: all 777 seats have air nozzles, Qsuite or 2-2-2.

I didn't get swapped, to my knowledge that day has always been scheduled on an old configuration 77W. It seems they use that equipment on 1-2 saturdays each month, otherwise it's all QSuite 77L. Where I have a bit of hope is the fact that both planes have the same number of J seats, so if the economy load isn't full an equipment swap to a 77L would be easy. Sounds like QR is prone to quite a lot of equipment swapping on routes out of DOH. So we'll see.

AA does NOT fly DFW-SYD.

Qantas does on their A380.

Help with Qatar Business availability for ORD-DOH-HYD pls. I have been checking since 3 weeks, and have been unable to find a single ticket availability on BA.com for Sep 2019. I am sure I am not searching too early as well, as I do not see a single availability even for the next few months from ORD-DOH as well. Am I doing something wrong, can I get assistance on how I can get to know the availability, so I can call AA and book my tickets. ThankYou.

Try searching the segments separately. As the Wiki states, most of the booking engines (with the exception of AA I've found) will not see award space for the entire route. I believe you'll have to confirm availability for each flight independently and then call in to book the entire itinerary.

But I'll confess I'm not an expert on BA's routing rules, so someone else here is welcome to correct me.

Oh ya, did that as well, for all the months, but do not see anything at all, not even a single day. Thx.

My flight on May 10th from DOH-LAX got switched from a 777L to a 777W. However the seat map and EF show a qsuite 777W.

FWIW I flew DOH-LAX in the beginning of March and had a last min aircraft swap to a 777W but it still had qsuites.

Interesting. Both the QR seat map and ExpertFlyer agree that mine is not a QSuite flight. And yesterday's flight that was also a 77W was an old config (I confirmed the registration). But you've given me hope! Maybe I'll get lucky. But even if I don't, an 80 inch pitch and Qatar's J food service is a huge improvement over anything Y. When you get gifted the Moon you can't really complain that Mars didn't accompany it.

Ah, sorry, I missed that. Hope you do get a swap, then, to Qsuite.

My apologies, thanks for catching that. I had mixed up DFW-HKG with LAX-SYD. I edited my post to delete DFW-SYD. The point that HKG-DFW is longer than LAX-DOH remains (DFW-SYD is shorter than DFW-HKG).
