Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

My other half and I were hoping for QSuites for MAN-Doh-Pen on the first leg. About 1 in 4 flights were Qsuites for a long time.
Old 77W and 787s in the end on the way out.
Must say, tough to split them. Really do like the space in the old 777 2-2-2, especially as we had 1A/1B. Not a fan of the newer IFE controls on the 1-2-1 on the 787 too. That seat feels a little more hemmed in to, though I could lie in comfort on both despite being 6ft 3.
happily fly 777 again though with no hesitation.

I seem to be in minority but I don't actually care for Qsuite, especially if travelling with someone like I usually do.
We were fortunate enough (with a little help from purser) to get whole 4 seat configuration for the two of us. Our original seats were on the double bed configuration and before take-off I observed that they were good for communication but with divider closed it felt it bit too closed and there is also problem with the screens as they are so close to each other that I found my eyes to wander and look other screen as well.
After take-off, we opened dividers, made double bed seats to actual double bed and used the two seats opposite for movie watching and dining. Now with divider open it felt bit more open. Double bed footwell felt bit tight but wife liked the privacy that the door gives when sleeping. When we were both up and eating, conversation between the far away seats was more difficult than with the rest of the configurations. You really are quite far away from each other.
I still think my favorite when travelling together is 350 followed by 787. After that it gets harder. 380 has same product but too many business seats in general so the service seems less personal and takes longer. 777 with 2-2-2 is not that bad when you travel with someone as stepping over doesn't feel that ankward and if my memory servers me right, the seat felt quite comfortable and maybe? wider than the rest or maybe it has something to do with the footwell. 320 is ok, followed by 330.
I think I would rank Qsuite to be around older 777 2-2-2 and would not care which one I had if its toss between those two.
As for travelling single, things change considerably. Then Qsuite with window seat would be miles above others, followed by 350, 787, 380 window seat and rest.. well, I would try to avoid rest.

Hi All
Am flying next week CPH-DOH (2-2) and then DOH-AKL (was 2-2, now suddenly changed to Q-Suites ). It'll be my first time in Q Suites (assuming it sticks) and I have been allocated a Row 1 window seat. Row 10 is still available so was wondering about whether Row 1 might be a little noisy so close to the galley? Any suggestions?? Am also off to Expert Flyer now to set up aircraft change notifications - I'd be gutted if it changes back again !

QR832/833
Ughhh it seems QR832/833 which is DOH-BKK-DOH has been downgraded from a Qsuites 77W to a regular 77W (at least in April when I’m scheduled for those flights). Are there any other DOH-BKK flights that have Qsuites now in april?

If it does change, be sure to re-arm the EF alert as it might change back. (In EF, you can easily re-arm a notified alert by viewing saved alerts, uncheck "pending" and check "notified" and then click the circle thing to resubmit.)

I'm on QR833 in April and it's been changed to a regular 77W also. However my QR830 flight has been changed from A333 to 77W with QSuites. Overall I'm happy with this as I'm still getting one leg on the Qsuites and I prefer the 77W over A333.
