Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?
Details and changes can be found in the various recent threads.

As to other routes NO ONE KNOWS!

Am I just unlucky and on a flight that doesn't offer it? Or is it too early to tell as I have been looking at the past flights and 1/2 were Qsuites and the ones planned for March 2020 on are all old configuration (at least on expert flyer)
If you read a few pages of posts here, you'll see that QR is notorious for equipment swaps, from Qsuite to non-Qsuite and vice versa (and often back and forth any number of times). You can check ExpertFlyer to see the currently-loaded seat map, which is accurate as to what QR currently has configured, but may change any number of times before the flight departs. If you are an EF subscriber, you can create an Equipment Change alert which will notify you if the seat map changes.

True when both seats are used independently. For true double-bed mode, QR offers a thin strip that covers the dividers between the seats, making them into a continuous surface.

I booked this as I will be travelling with my wife and two 3-year old twins. I had thought it would be the Q-suites with the quad pod set-up but when I looked at the seat map, it's just the usual 1-2-1 formation. I had read that Philadelphia was switching to Q-suites by September 2019.

Is the layout correct? What are the chances of it being the Q-suite? I don't want to have to spend 12 hours on a plane with 3-year olds across the aisle from us...
See my comment above (or earlier posts in the thread). But as others have said, if you are in a reverse-herringbone layout, using two center pairs should be fine.

It may be different with Qsuite, since people do post "I was scheduled for non-Qsuite and to my surprise and delight it changed to Qsuite!" In my experience, QR has far more equipment swaps than any other airline I fly, and I fly a lot of different carriers.

I understand that, but it shoud be taken in proportion and there is a far higher proportion of equipment change posts in this forum when compared to other airline forums on here. I've read multiple new ones since my reply yesterday so it's more than just posting gripes being more likely than posting praise.

Fair enough.

OK, but presumably QSuites are swapped in as often as they're swapped out.

I do not think so, as it would be quite strange to "swap out" Qsuite from a advertised dedicated Qsuite route, to "swap it in" to a non Qsuite route.
I think, that there are basically too less aircrafts with Qsuite available to cater the advertised routes, so they keep switching them around ....but that´s just my opinion ;-)

Does anyone know if there are forward or down cameras on the 777-300 suites? I was booked on an A350-900 which does but got an aircraft change. Is the seating considered better on the 777 due to air vents in the centre and being slightly wider?

Sure, but unless an aircraft is out of service for a mechanical or similar reason, if it's switched out of one flight, it's switched on to another, right? They wouldn't switch it out just to let it sit idle.

Stands to reason, yes.

QR flies Qsuite planes to many more places than are on their advertised list of Qsuite destinations. So, many of the posts where people are disappointed that their Qsuite flight was swapped for a non-Qsuite one were on routes that are not advertised as Qsuite, but happened to be scheduled for a Qsuite plane at one point.

To me, the 777 is much more enjoyable than the A350 because I fly in EF pairs with my spouse, and I get far too hot to sleep comfortably without air nozzles. But no cameras on the 777.

A more specific statement by QR Twitter team, related to the procedure in case of change from Qsuite to non Qsuite

QUOTE
If the change to non-Qsuite is verified, you are entitled to 1) one-time free change (+/- 21 days of the original date; new origin or destination within the same country or 500-mile radius from the original origin or destination); and 2) refund without the cancellation fee.

Change and a refund, that's generous. I'm sure they meant "or".

I have put a link to this posting in the wiki at the top of the thread, as aircraft swaps and loss of QSuite seating is a frequently raised topic on the forum. Thanks @Traveller999

Do we know what is meant by "verified"?
Let's say the change happens 2 months before the flight, would that qualify as "verified"?

That only means that when you contact the QR Twitter team to change then they will verify with the relevant department whether there was indeed a change from Qsuite to non-Qsuite.

A7-BEA returned on 2nd october from maintenance with Q-Suite.
The The Complete Guide to the Qatar Airways Fleet already listed the plane under Q-Suite. So now 4 777 in high density with Q-Suite.
