Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

How do you know if its Qsuites or not when searching with the link you sent? There's no indicator of whether the aircraft is Qsuite equipped or not. But of course, you were right. QR02 on 14/12 was equipped with Qsuites. Unfortunately by the time I reached Heathrow the remaining business class seats had already been taken (4).

Rannila if you look at the QR dashboard widget The Complete Guide to the Qatar Airways Fleet you will find that 333H aircraft have "B/E Diamond seat in 2-2-2 config" seats. There is also a link to photos of the seat.

The first two new A350-1000 (35X) with Qsuites are expected to be delivered in the next three months and speculation is already rife as to where they will be deployed.
Rumour has it that CDG will have the first aircraft for one daily rotation in early Spring. There is speculation as to the second but it seems logical that the other 'prime' destination (LHR) will have one daily rotation from late spring.
It must be expected that there will be a considerable number of crew training flights with this new aircraft type.
Remember that deliveries of this completely new aircraft type have yet to be made.

1 A35K is not enough to operate DOH-HND-DOH and 2 aircrafts exclusively operating DOH-HND-DOH seems inefficient. Operating a mix of 77W and A35K with Qsuites on one flight will be tricky too: It takes one flight cancellation to mess up your crew schedules. You'll have crew sitting in TYO that won't be able to operate the next flight.

Cspnvdl welcome to the QR forum.
I do not recall QR making specific commitments to routings of Qsuites fitted aircraft except to announce the routes as they happen. Whilst I seem to remember on reference to the A350 with Qsuites by QR almost everything else appears to be wishful thinking by members of this forum. Remember that there are two different A350 aircraft. The A350-900 (359) and the A350-1000 (35X) with Qsuites so references to A350 could mean either.

Thanks for the welcome rmdk. I’ve been very much a lurker to this point — lots of reading but no posting! I seem to remember seeing something pretty definitive here ages ago but it probably was just speculation.. I am due to fly the HND route but not till the second half of 2018 and I guess much may have changed by then anyway...

With the longest flying time at the moment, would it be economical to fly to AKL when they achieve two A35X frames?
The range is sufficient and I would assume the A35X is more efficient than A B772LR? Although the A35X has much more seats in Y, so maybe the Y-load is not great enough at all..

I'm booked on 4/16 JFK - DOH (QR702) and I am NOT seeing the Q Quite. A quick look at EF and it looks like QR702 seat map changes to the old 777 configuration on 3/23. That's really unfortunate if it holds.
