Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

HDMI port - QSuite

This might seem like a silly question...

I know the Qsuites on 777s have an HDMI port.
And I see a lot of bloggers referencing it can be used to view your own content from your laptop/phone.

My question - has anyone done it? Results?

I read somewhere that the middle QSuites in rows 3, 5, 7, and 9 were best for couples. If I have 2 seats chosen, would QR move us to accommodate a family that wants 4 seats together? When I booked, the seat selector was wide open.

Seems like this route is less reliable these days! was 2-2-2 on the reverse. Sucks.

It can change literally up to boarding time from Doha.

My fly with Qatar is 2 weeks later, depart from SFO, does Qatar aircraft A350 depart from SFO - DOH has Q-suites in business class section.
And what business lounge I have access to use at SFO .

I could not get it to work with my iPad... but I was trying to put Netflix to the scree. So maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe it was discussed already, but as an "advise to be careful", at the moment QR is advertising and selling flights as QSuite even they are not foreseen as QSuite at time of booking.
In the attached screenshots you can clearly see that Qsuite is "sold", but the seatmap does not reflect this. I raised this topic with the Platinum WhatsApp, but as you may "feel" already, with NO result ....
So be careful and check the seatmap first if you want to book QSuite (despite the high possibility of Aircraft swap), as I unfortunately did not. Otherwise I would have taken the A380 departing approx. 1h later and use my Qcredits for Upgrade to First ....

Downgrade from QSuites to 2-2-2 Compensation?

Has anyone gotten compensation when a plane has a last minute (unannounced) downgrade from QSuites to 2-2-2 business class?

It is obviously quite the inferior product/experience.

As a guess I would say No!

Most likely somewhere in the Conditions of Contract it is written that “only the class is sold, not a specific seat product”.
It would be a interesting legal fight for compensation, especially when the website does show a specific seat product at time of booking (QSuite in this case), but I doubt anybody would want to fight for that at courts in Qatar ;-)
