Any advices are welcome.
I would not worry. You'll make the connection easily unless there is a delay of course.

Your options are outlined in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/japan...t-options.html

I would keep the taxi as a backup option. Probably cheaper that schlepping it to an airport hotel.

It would however be awesome to receive feedback re: reaching the train to Tokyo in time.

I would expect that 772 LR will be the last widebodies in the whole QR fleet to go through refurbishing

Oh well, I guess if they don't charge us, it's gonna be even cheaper

Thanks. I saw that, it may be an option too, worst case scenario (if there's space, seeing they seem to be always fully booked).

Thanks, I will have a look at that thread. My concern is the delay indeed heh, it's my first time in Tokyo and I am going by myself so just want to be prepared.
I also saw your comment on a flight to Hiroshima, I was thinking on doing that for a day (and staying there 1 night).
Have you done it? Any advice is appreciate

You can certainly have a look around the Peace Park and museum in a day. As I remember, there's also a reconstructed castle nearby.

That's nice, thanks! I may stay for a day. I am doing some research too, I have time, only going in September/October but would like to plan in advance seeing I have other trips already planned.

And the Itsukushima Shrine is just a short train + ferry ride away.

Are the six Grand Sumo Tournaments worth it? Currently considering whether or not, I should go to one of them.
