Long time BA lurker... Now this fare has tempted me to the QR side!

Not got enough posts to edit wiki I don't think sorry!

Also added on a cheeky side trip to HKG, booked CX First HKG-NRT on 24/11 will probably slum it out on HK Express or something around the 19th as the one way has cleared me out of avios, but this is turning out an amazing trip with 4 QR J sectors + CX F (even if only for 4hrs...) for under £1400 for both of us!

Probably the only time I'll be able to afford to get into CX F any time soon - or am I crazy blowing double the J avios for 4hours?

Outbound
BRU-NRT 15/11
Inbound
NRT-BRU 28/11

Thanks to Raffles for the heads up...!

For 9000 Avios + £3 you can fly to Hiroshima and also get some cultural education. Why not do something like that for a few days? I never been, but I guess it would be a break from the usual. Any other ideas for a few days outside of TYO itself? A bit off the beaten path.

Another advantage: not the same ridiculous hotel prices as in TYO itself...

I have a bit more complicated routing: AMS-DOH-HKG-NGO / NGO-ICN-DOH-AMS.

Have added it to the wiki as AMS-NGO / NGO-AMS, specifiying via HKG/ICN only at the end. Hope that's ok.

No wonder I couldn't find dates in October!

Btw, any recomendations for a Ryokan and/or Onsen with a Mount Fuji view? Maybe somewhere around Lake Kawaguchi.

Just had a second e-mail chasing verification of my payment. I've responded, again, but I'm a bit concerned that they are saying they hadn't received a response as it might auto-cancel.

Annoyingly my travel companion is on a second booking so I can see a situation where he is travelling but I am not...

Exactly the same here, 2nd request sent and once again I sent the documents off.. I also never got an automated email to say they received it (only a screenprint which doesnt have any details on).

Payment went through on 12/1 and PNR and ticket number all look ok though.

Someone is welcome to add my dates.

31 March BRU-CGK (J class)
16 April CGK-BRU (J class)

I have a layover for 9 hours in DOH until the morning of the 17th. Would be cool to see if someone else is stuck since I'm travelling solo

Added Zolex to the lonely months of March and April. Even though he is technically on a rijsttafel-fare...

No offence meant, but this are hotels for Americans who want everything to be like it is at home but then somewhere else. Find a smaller hotel in a nice area and at least get some taste of what it means to be in Japan, where nobody understands you and you understand nobody. It is marvellous!

In that case, also check out the Hotel Risveglio Akasaka. Same quiet area as the one you mentioned so close to everything - and transport - very cheap and very good. Rooms can be a bit on the small side if travelling as a couple. It is a bit more modern and hip than the Monterey.

I'd rather spend the €1000/€2000 saved on good food and sake!
As a fellow cloggie that hotel does have a good price - an it looks nice too

Yes,any ideas for things to do and places to go outside Tokyo would appreciated. We went to Kyoto last time, so looking for different ideas.
