71D has no seat in front of it hence the addition legroom/charge. This is due to an emergency escape hatch from the crew rest area. As such, in cruise the area has to be left clear of bags/makeshift foot rests. It is slightly narrower as the tray table and IFE are housed in the seat frame, the same as any exit row or bulkhead. It does have some other nifty advantages such as the screen and tray table in the back of 69D which can be used in addition to your own. (Although there is no sound and the person in 70E would obviously need to get in and out during the flight) The recline on last rows on the QF A380 fleet in my opinion is the same as every other seat. While there is a bulkhead behind, there are stowages down low that mean the actual seats are set forward of that bulkhead. The seat back is above these stowages so the bulkhead doesn't appear to impact recline. For non extra legroom seats I reckon they're a good choice as no one behind means you can keep your seat reclined except for TTL, even during meals. I'd avoid the very last row main deck and DEF on the upper deck though.

I have currently booked 32K from MEL to LAX. I am 6'2".
Would I be better off in 32J or 36K? (36J unavailable on my flight)
Or should I stay where I am?
I did some research but there didn’t seem much in it and I thought that the bulkhead would give me a little more room.
Any comments?
Thx in advance,
Medicus.

I am 6' and Row 32 seats are a fraction short of leg room for me.
Row 33 is much better for me (33A is my fav. seat that I don't have to pay $180 additional for).

I'm on QF 598 from Perth to Brisbane this week. Seat guru says it's an A330-200. Currently I'm in 31J - standard aisle. 44A is available as an exit seat for $60 with extra legroom. Is it significant legroom? I'm 6'3" so paying this for a long flight seems worth it. I just want to ensure I get what I pay for.

As long as it stays a 332, then 44A is a reasonable seat as an exit - the cowling is minimal on the 332, unlike that of the 333's and 45A/K.

Four class 747-400 SYD-SCL in J
4A or 4E best because of the storage space next to you.
What's second best: row 1, 11, or 14?
I think 4 > 1 > 14 > 11, but want to check.

In the US a domestic flight almost always goes out full but in the 5-6 trips I've had down to Australia I've had pretty good luck on Qantas getting an open seat next to me.

Wow that is awesome. So QF blocks seats - I assume because of my status - if the flight load is low? Explains why on light loads I often have an open seat. Awesome of QF!

The seat blocks can be removed just as quickly as they are applied. The seat will be used if needed (eg, it may be crew or similar non rev).
