With the links in post 1 (from 2008) now being redundant due to aircraft changes and QF software changes the wiki has been established. Please add relevant information.

Quick question on the 747 upper deck business. We have 3 people traveling LAX-BNE and have currently picked row 15A, B and J. I saw that 16J and 16K are also currently opened. The QF seat map seems to be showing row 16 has a bit more legroom (an extra window). Can anyone confirmed if that's the case. Row 14 and before are currently all blocked out for elite flyers. Thanks.

A little help? I'm a complete newbie to QF.
I'm travelling on the refreshed 747 (business in the nose) ... I've made my way through this thread and I've been through the thread on the refresh. Can't see specific answers to my questions ...
I've snagged 14A on the upper deck as my seat for now. Seems like a reasonable seat - exit row so easy to get out of.
However, 1A/K is still available and I am tempted to move into one of those seats. I'm a solo traveler. I've done the upper deck a few times on BA ... so that's not a novelty. The front of the plane however ...
The one thing I really can't seem to wrap my head around is how easy it is to move in and out of these seats without disturbing your seat mate.
All the photos I'm seeing would suggest that if you're in 1K - you're blocked in if the person in 1J wants to sleep.
Am I right in that?
Any opinions on this from the perspective of a solo traveller? (I've seen a few posts referring to couples)

Being able to 'look forward' and the privacy and quiet of 1A probably outweighs any (minor) inconvenience. I'd take row 1.

No one's moved in next to me yet - but I guess we'll wait and see.

Hi guys,
how is the refurbishment of the international A332/A333 fleet progressing ? Am booked on QF 51 BNE-SIN (May 18) operated by an A332 and QF 98 HGK-BNE (May 30) operated by an A333.
Both flights currently show the refurbished business class layout with the individual suite seats. Just curious how many "old" birds are still around so I can estimate the risk of getting the old layout.
Cheers from Brisbane,
pswissoz

On the A332 rows 1-4 in business (refurbed) and rows 23-30 in economy (non-refurbed) are blocked.
On the B717 with a business cabin rows 4-10 in economy are blocked.

Thanks, eminere. Looks like it isn't nearly as severe on the 747 and A380. I wonder what happens if the tiny non-elite allocation runs out on a 737 or A330? Do they open up some more, or just make passengers wait until T-80? (I can't imagine pax who pay for J would be happy if it's the latter.)

My SOP as a WP is to preselect an exit row aisle seat on the 73H's and then try to improve to row 4 at T-80.
