I'm looking to do this run
Hello everyone
I have 2 questions
Since in wanna do this run now in october and wanna buy it today Auh-cgk rather then the dxb-cgk
I would like to know is there anything vital that I need to know before doing this run?
I'm talking about anything that is an absolute must or not ?
And also doing it 2x 1 after the other is that a problem in any way?
many thanks

As one of main contributors to the thread and the WIKI, it's worth noting that the majority of this thread is related to flights out of AUH.
As such, I don't believe there is anyone here who has done a b2b at DXB as you seem to be proposing; and personally, I wouldn't try it. DXB is much larger and more complicated airport than AUH.
I haven't got much other advice to give unfortunately, but I'd definitely suggest you fly out of AUH and not DXB.

I am considering trying a b2b at AUH for another run later in the year, but I'm still unsure since I always like to play it safe.
What I really, really would like is a positioning flight to AUH arriving the same day of the first UL flight out... Unfortunately seems only EY can offer it, however I'm really not keen to have a red-eye in Y on the way back.
This fare is great, but it requires a lot of days if done without a b2b.

I’ve done the B2B at both AUH and DXB. AUH is definitely a lot easier, but even at DXB I was able to get from doors-open to lounge in under ten minutes. However, I would not advise doing B2B in either airport with a ticket that requires credit card verification prior to boarding pass issue, because that can definitely present some complexities - not sure the transfer desk at AUH or DXB would be able to perform the check, so there is a potential risk of you having to go landside and missing the check-in deadline.

Just booked it from Dubai in January. Price was £539 via the opodo app (use code OPODO20 for £20 off, expires 27/07/19 *app bookings only). It was also bringing up Abu Dhabi for £505 with the code.

Note if you also have SkyTeam elite membership. Immi and security queues at CGK have priority lanes (virtually no queues) for Skypriority. You don't have to be flying ST but just have the elite membership card with you will allow you to use those lanes. I am currently on a govt sanctioned trip in CGK and confirmed with the staff here.

With regards to the AUH fare it appears to be a direct choice between the promotional fare at AED 2415 or the Biz Saver fare at AED 3135. Earlier in the promotion there were Biz Saver fares for AED 2750 but I cannot find them anymore, being indecisive cost me once again!
So it will cost circa either £530 or £690 – a £160 or $200 difference.
With one more day of the promotion remaining I am uncertain what to do. My travel is scheduled for September 2019.
I am not worried about Avios but I do really need the 560 tier points.
I checked my September dates on Skycanner and Momondo and both sites returned results in the £665 price range – looks like you must book direct via Sri Lankan to obtain the Biz Promo Restrict fare. Opodo is now £693 for most random dates chosen (without codes, original price).
I would prefer to pay the AED 2750 (£605) for the Biz Saver price, with some guaranteed Avios but will this price return? I assume that AED 2415 is the lowest price obtainable this year?
Any thoughts welcome.
