Is that an empty leg flight(APC-DPA)? I don't see any free shuttles from West Coast to Chicago on JetSmarter Simple plan.

My goodness starting in two weeks NY to ATLANTA shuttle will be $220 one way for first seat instead of free.

I am seeing fees on every shuttle in December. I am also seeing fees starting immediately on the longer shuttles which I was promised I would not have to pay this year on renewal when keeping my "old" Smart membership.

Also, check out Atlanta - South Florida. Any others?

Is this good or bad on balance? it may increase the financial viability of the route while it reduces value to members.

I frankly couldn't give less of a crap about the company's financial viability. I would not have paid for a membership under these terms, which substantially alter the agreed-upon service. I don't want to hear any more nonsense about stat-up growing pains. When you charge a membership fee, you need to honor the terms of the agreement for the term for which payment was made. If they're going to keep changing the services they provide, they should operate under a monthly membership. Forcing someone to pay for a year in advance and then changing the terms is scammy.

They are claiming that the entire month of December is now "peak holiday travel," and using their old "the charges are made be the operator; it's not our fault" line.

Yeah, these are the holiday surcharges. They're not doing the entire month; still several days I found where there's no surcharge ( e.g. Dec 13 & 14 )... but it's way more than last year.

And yeah, the line about how the operators are doing this is BS imo... they've negotiated long-term contracts for capacity... I could maybe see the argument about charging more for an on-demand flight or custom shuttle, but not for the scheduled shuttles.

I was told on the phone by a rep that sophisticated members see empty legs 6 hours before smart members.

Im suspicious of this claim.

Does anyone have a data pointing this?

thx

That's been the case for some time though I haven't seen any actual evidence comparing side by side yet.

Trying to decide whether to renew at my $9k membership level for Smart. If I do I'll have to start paying for transcon shuttle routes which are essentially the only routes I use.

How much are people having to pay per flight for VNY-HPN now?

Thanks,

Steve

Dear Steve, I recently traveled to the states and flew the opposite route (HPN to VNY) for 720 USD. I can tell you that my app is showing some flights for 450, 540 and increased charges for flights around the holidays. On average, it appears to be hovering around 500-700 USD for transcontinental flights.

Terrible lack of JetDeals

Don't know if you noticed but wow, the JetDeals availability in Europe as considerably decreased..

Also their new service and terms sucks. When you book a JetDeal and the deal is cancelled, the messages are vanishing from the App. No more personalized aviation specialist to assist you in your booking.

The level of service is lower than before.. Any one is sharing my opinion on this.. ?

Sounds to me like your app may have a glitch, I have never seen vanishing messages.

Also, I just went into the app to see Jetdeal availability for this weekend and found six in Europe. I noticed recently that there are plenty more Jetdeals toward the end of the week, so I would not be concerned about them decreasing. I assume there are more repositioning flights when the majority of charters are initiated - before/during the weekend.

Thanks, I'm not willing to spend $720 when I've been spending $0.

It was fun while it lasted.

This is exactly why they should increase prices and drive out the lunatics that think they can fly on a G4 transcontinental for a one time 12k fee. Unbelievable.
